@Morgethein In general I agree. Most slasher movies dish out the carnage pretty equally. I remember Siskel & Ebert complaining about "sexual violence against women" in their review of F13 The Final Chapter, specifically the scene in which the naked girl gets impaled in the raft. No mention of her boyfriend getting harpooned in the crotch. THAT is sexual violence. Incidentally being naked during a murder doesn't necessarily make a character's death "sexual violence."
@dannydontgoin237 agreed! the nudity in that scene was pure dark comedy. It is simply that nudity is so taboo in most cultures, that it is hard to see that comic element unless it is screaming at you like will feral film... =/
@DarkAngel182 Was he not also in Space Mutiny? You know, he who inspired the MST3K riff "My father, and his father before him, also taped wool to their faces?" LOL.
I've never really agreed with feminist groups regarding the misogynistic mature of horror movies like Maniac, I Spit on Your Grave and the Friday the 13th series, but I can see their point with this movie, as it does indeed eroticize the murder of women. I kind of like the nailgun murder scene though. Despite being naked and vulnerable, the female victim does manage to keep her wits about her and at least make an attempt to think her way out of her predicament instead of just screaming.
@Gorefreak1991 Yeah. Personally I think if the second half of the movie was what the film concentrated on it would have been a far better film. The opening for all it's gory showcasing is very mean and ultimately pointless in regards to the rest of the film. It detracted from rather than added to the film. Still like I say it's not all bad and it's not a bad watch, it's just handy to have a shower on standby for when the movies done with. ;0)
i always liked score in this movie.

"Toolbox Murders" and "The Driller Killer" would make a fantastic double-feature!
