when they announced subscriptions for the game, i knew the game wasnt gonna last long, i was right, 30 quid for the god damn game, this game's death was foretold by the subscriptions system

Yes they are closing in January 2012 due to lack of paid subscribers.

If you look on the Lego Universe sight, it says Lego Universe will END in January 31 2012. I was enraged and sad that Lego had to leave this great game; it was horrific.

They had to end it because they had to have a certain amount of buyers to make the game go on, though they didn't achieve that amount so they had to end it. Also, they couldn't leave the game as is because they knew people will get bored of it and stop playing it. Conclusion, Lego Universe is coming to an end:(

Lego universe is going offline in January, I feel sorry for people who paid for stuff. makes you wonder if the free2play concept is really the way forward for the gaming industry as this isn't the first time a f2p game has gone offline within a year. why uberent is following it with super monday night combat is beyond me. R.I.P Lego universe.

The game crashes every. I can't play. It crashes when the world is loading and it crashes when im playing it FOR NO REASON. Then I have to start it again A MILLION TIMES until it DOESNT CRASH WHEN LOADING.
