  • Always thought that what made Surfer Girl so pretty was the way it was sung with such lush harmonies, but you my friend have finally dispelled that notion once and for all. It is just an awfully pretty tune, however its appoached. Thanks for brightening up my day here in gloomy London this Thursday morning. Now back to replay. Little surfer little one........

  • Wow, beautiful!

  • ....Do you love me, little one ?

The guitar sounds great, man !

You play it wonderfull. One of my favorite songs ever. I will figure something out, to do it on my baritone uke.

    Thank you

  • damn! just..............damn!

  • Excellent job my friend. Beautiful song played beautifully. Thanks.

  • amazing!! i wish i was as talented to play this tune so beautifully..thanks for uploading!

  • Superb! And whether the tech comments on the music are valid or not, it all helps explain what B Wilson meant when he said something like, "Actually, Surfer Girl is kind of complicated because..." And my kids made some noise and I missed the rest. Now I have a better understanding.

  • super pretty. (:

  • wonderful, but what made you decide to do it in this key ?

  • BeachBoysGuy1: Just as singers change keys because of their singing range, I changed the key because it would take advantage of the guitar's open strings.

  • Oh thank you. sounds great. i didn't mean to sound critical. Great job !!

  • i love his prison shirt

  • one word- amazy!

  • bom é pouco. Muito bom, tá certo. Excelente tb. Mas eu só digo: palavras pra quê ?

  • At first I thought...oh no, not another one. Someone who thinks they're talented. He's going to destroy a beautiful song.

Adrian, I couldn't have been further off from the truth....what an absolutely beautiful job. What a pleasure it was listening to such a talented person. Thankyou. Keep up the terrific work.

  • I think it's more than the fingers!

  • woah man. that's better that how the beach boys played it...

  • Love that song and I wish they all could be surfer girls!

  • inspiring...

  • You are the best guitar player not named Stevie Ray Vaughn or Eric Clapton.

What a joy it is to see your arrangements and interpretations of some of these timeless classics.

You have chosen well with your music -- Beatles and Beach Boys along with TV themes --- perfect stuff!

  • i was havin a bad day, then i heard this, and cheered me up thanks

  • thank you. this is a really impressive cover. Really enjoyed this.

  • AWESOME! And you played it so well, I could 'catch' your tune! Beautiful!

  • beautiful

  • not easy to do !!! anyway brian is a ..... genius!

  • That's what you call bloody brilliant!

  • very sweet tune

  • to bad i dont know because i pay to have u teach me that haha!

  • most excellent!

  • You really have talent! Love your take on these classics.

  • Excellent!!! One thing -- the chords under "ever-y where I go-oh-oh ..", i.e. right before the modulation, should be *D* to G, not *F* to G. But still -- first class!

  • I noticed that you have a jail sign on your shirt. Are an inmate ha! ha!

    Nelson

  • Incredible...but why are you in jail?

  • jimbeauxtexas: It's a "B.B. King Live In Cook County Jail" t-shirt. Good album, by the way.

  • lol...that explains it...incredible job on the song...reminded me of the 60s when our Sealteam was stationed in Honolulu and deployed often to Southeast Asia...the women!!!!!!!

  • I second the comment by cryoprocess, below. Bravo!

  • amazing

  • I was impressed until you modulated to C #, then I about fell out of my chair. I knew the song did that, but did not expect to see a guitarist follow through. I probably would have stopped the tape, slapped on a capo, and hoped nobody noticed :). Anyway, just an excellent rendition of a beautiful song.

  • is there a chance you could explain what you meant by that and at what point Adrian modulated to C#?

  • The change in key occurs after the bridge, which is the part where the lyrics end with "in my woody I would take you everywhere I go". Notice how after that line, he goes up to a chord higher up the neck. That leads to playing the last verse in C#, instead of the beginning key of C. It's a common tool used in popular music, but in this case is a difficult transition for a guitarist because C# does not have the open (unfretted) strings that are available in the key of C.

    Hope this helps.

  • gotcha, as far as slapping on the capo, it would have been cool if the video split and he had one side of him continuing with the capo and the other waiting for fills or so. he's such a good musician that those of us that play around with video can have fun with his material.

  • THAT IS SICK, MAN!!! :P :D

  • I am in awe of your talent.

  • have you ever thought of going pro?

  • wow

  • amazing

  • you are an awesome guitarist

  • i wish i could play like that.

  • this is another video in my top 15

  • This is a great guitar video! Sounds very mellow and gentle; brings a special quality to a great song.

  • WHOA!! nice!!

  • Brian Wilson is a Musical Genius! What puzzles people is that he doesn't even realize it! At least Mike Love does and steals the Beach Boys from him, hehehe what a bald talentless prick!

  • wow i could seriously fall asleep to this. it's so perfect!!! i like it better than the original

  • Did you write this rendition your self?

  • who cares ?!!! WHAT HE PLAYED IS AWSOME!!!!

  • Nothing but perfect

  • That was beautiful! Surfer Girl is my second all-time favorite song. Your rendition gave me the same feeling I had the very first time I ever heard the song. Thanks so much for posting.

  • beautiful fingerpicking. this is one of my fav beach boy tunes. you got a real gift please post more stuff. thanx -J

  • i can't say enough nice things about this rendition. thank you so much...please consider recording more brian wilson/beach boys tunes such as in my room...my all-time favorite song. thank you again.

  • Sweet and skillful. Great job!

  • Wow!! loved it.

  • amazing !

  • This is one of my favorite BB songs; pretty and melancholy at the same time. Great arrangement, Adrian.

  • "pretty and melancholy at the same time" is the perfect description of this song. thanks!

  • beautiful !

  • Bravo!!

  • That was great. A perfect ending to a day spent at the beach.

  • Another one to my favorites!!

  • Nice. You should do a karaoke scroll for the lyrics.

  • lovely :-) i was just listening to the beach boys hehe
