how did you get yours to run on a wheel? i got mine from a woman who never spent any time with him, and he's just now starting to get used to me. i bought him a wheel but he won't fool with it. any suggestions?
Give him time. I bought a wheel for mine, and I thought he never used it. Until I found it full of poo one morning. My hedgie seems to like the night better than the daytime, it figures. I was woken up by the wheel noise at one time, and I saw him running. It's cool =)
yeah, he finally started running two nights ago. now he won't leave it alone! he ran from 3AM to almost 7AM lol.
he sure has made a lot of progress. when i first got him, no one could hold him and he spiked up with any sudden movement. now he crawls all over me, and i can hold him with my bare hands :)
Luckily most hedgies come around, but since they are so shy by nature it generally takes a lot of patience. Grats on getting the job done!
Yeah mine will run all night from like 2am til 8am. She can run so FAST on it, it's nuts. I love it because the pitterpatter of her feet sounds like rain and it makes me sleepy :)
That is a good question, but in the wild they probably run (not on a wheel) but on a path through some water so I wouldn't worry about him/her too much. As long as the cameraman or whoever watches him.
