p.s. are they longer than the gloves that came with the costume? and in all honesty those doctored up ones you modified look pretty good. If I had the money I'd ask for dibs on those right now. But the costume ones are my only option. I'd be so grateful for a little help with how you did the hinges and re-enforced them etc... I'm just as obsessed with one day completing a very authentic looking Edward. I hope you keep a pair for yourself. Really.
@ryanranger No problem. I understand. The price range on this new replica pair will likely only be reasonable to big time cosplay prop collectors. They ARE out there but they're a sellect group. Now that I have the molds then I'm hoping the next pair I make will be easier. I just hope to sell some in order to afford making a pair for myself. (Seems a bit backwards that way, but that's the reality of it.)
@U2fan24 Sorry to be leaving so many jumbled up comments. But I just remembered that there is a decent chance I'll be receiving some "back pay" from some possible benefits. It could take up to a year or maybe a little more before there is a chance of me getting it. But I will definitely be hitting you back up if it all works out. I'm no prop collector though. I would almost do a photo shoot in full costume with those. There could be possible money in it. Maybe you could do the same (?).
@ryanranger Well each blade is a different length, but I'll measure them right now... ok so the longest blade on the Rubies costume pair is maybe about 11", and mine in this video are 15.5". I actually bought a pair of Rubies costume gloves, and then some gloves came with the costume. So I had two pairs. I mixed and matched the blades so that most of them would be longer. As for my hight, I'm about 6ft. And the costume is a bit big on me, but not bad.
Oh shit I'm just seeing this. Thanks for telling me to check back.... Also, the hinges are what I can not figure out. You put them on the gloves that came with the costume as you know. Also, can I ask how tall you are? The costume seems big on a lot of people. I want to know if it'd be a joke on me or not.... Thanks man. And AWESOME job. However the price range is unrealistic for this unemployed bum with no income. They'll just have to remain a dream...
Well I went all out on materials and tried to get the best of the best in terms of silicone and plastic. I spent over $600 in materials alone, I do have reserves but I would like to be able to make a profit when selling these. I knew that these gloves would be extremely heavy based on their scale, so I ended up finding a very durable light weight plastic which is 3 times lighter than other plastics. The left hand is about 1lb .05ozs and the right hand is 15.90ozs.
@BagboyTim Well I haven't been able to get my mic to work for the longest time. I kept getting a bunch of feedback. So that's why I rarely talked until now lol.
Please PM me about these ,I am very intrested in buying A set :-)
