that reminds me of the 1972 Summit Series between Canada and Russia Ice Hockey. Noone went to work when those games were played,also in the schools the teachers brought in TVs to watch the games.

They play the Copa america, one of the biggest and most entertaining football tournaments on earth.
Brazil, argentina, etc.. carnival atmosphere, tens of millions watching, tens of thousands at the games.
Why attack it if your american? forget that, join in and have fun.

I pray that things will change in the USA in the coming years. Football is a beautiful sport and would love to see it be as big here in the US as it is in England or Mexico or Brazil.
