Thanks, oh brightest one in the classroom, but I already knew that. My point is how clear the Cynic influence can be heard in Exivious. Cynic was around way before these latest members joined the band or formed their separate group. Newer bands get influenced by older bands. That's usually how it works. It's not a bad thing. And forgive me if I'm pointing out the obvious.

Jazz/metal fusion is excellent. I've heard some similar projects before, but never as excellently put together as Exivious. They're great musicians with many years of experience, and though they apparently seem to _frequently_ enjoy to use the diminished sound, it fits fantastically. Dim is one of my favourite tonalities, and one of my favourite minor/b5 improv scales.

I've pre-ordered the album a few weeks ago, and I'm hyped.

I absolutely love the Holdsworth influence of the guitars and backing chords! I'm studying Holdsworth (really superficially atm, due to my lack of jazz/rock fusion theoretical knowledge), and his playing is just incredible.
