  • it burns burns in a ring of fire uhh a cable on fire

  • You must construct additional pylons!

  • At 2:06, There is a FRENCH phone booth at background and a FRENCH street plate on the electrical pole. It means this happened in France, but where ?

Please could you say me were (in France) this happened ?

    Thanks you !

  • @paul9511 "Could you say TO me WHERE..." but you can also try in French.

By the way, I already answered this question few weeks back. I redo it for you Paul: Rue de Neuchâtel, 51100 REIMS, France.

    Anymore questions?

  • @juanitotem Ok, j'essaye en français: Merci beaucoup de m'avoir dit où ça s'est passé.

Thanks you very much for said me where that happened, if you don't understand french.

  • @paul9511 Et pourquoi tu voulais savoir le lieu précis?

  • حزني هذا العمود ياحليلة بس ليش المصور خااايف ههههههههههه

    Is effort a low energy?

Why the photographer is too scared? It seems to me worthy of landscape supply

  • this is just a real Hot Line.

  • It looks and sounds like low voltage short circuits, with moderate fault current. It appears like a short circuit occurred on a customers un-protected low voltage feeder running up the pole, which overheated and melted the insulation, causing the cable cores to melt through their insulation and short together, as this happens the, fault moved up the pole, further melting the wires, and you can see them swinging and banging against other conductors at the top of the pole finally open circuit.

  • Do you know what caused this to happen?

  • Comment removed

  • Are you scared or why do you hide behind your window? :)

Nice vid, much clearer than usual YouTube videos.

  • @RoyHess666 I'm the cameraman of this scene, I wasn't scared, I just didn't want to be seen by the cops arriving on the place. Thanx for compliment anyway.

  • 1:17 remix :))

  • blame the jews

  • this looks like some eastern european country...typical laziness and shitty e engineering. You just don't put high power transformers that close to the ground, where if they were to short out they'd cause a real hazard. Same reason 30k people die in a 6.0 earthquake in india, and only 200 would die in America in the same earthquake. Building codes. Electrical codes.

  • @dpelpal

You don't have a damned clue what you are talking about.

    1) There is NO transformer on this pole.

    2) In America we actually put transformers ON THE GROUND.

    3) We have almost identical construction here.

    In closing, STFU.

  • @dpelpal It's verry probably in France, and if it's really in france, there is 220-230 volts at 50 hertz.

  • looked like a ufo a 1:50 far away.

  • Hahah Luke-better change your diet!

No mas Taco Bell... : )

  • Yeah! I thought the same

  • i think i saw jacki chan

  • i hear that every morning in my toilet

  • How was the smell? :D

  • Happy New Year!!!

    weeeee....

    LoL

  • Its like a Chinese fireworks show!! Crazy...

  • did ppl even call the police

  • you needed to put your hand to cut that

  • man that thing arced off go

  • was it on its own or was it some one else?

  • which country?

  • Reims FRANCE

  • @juanitotem Well, it's in france. So, why are you writing in english instead in french ? Are you not french ?

  • @paul9511 Because the question is in English and I understand this language enough to answer the question with the same language. I'm a french citizen.

  • it looks like the wires in the conduit going under the ground had a short

  • What a waste of an opportunity....

  • Really good, amazing footage of that wall you were hiding behind. There isn't much to be scared of, it's not going to jump up and kill you!!

  • Holy. That can't be good. They have some dodgy electricians there I see lol

  • what a frightened operator..:)

  • that was cool. what i dont get though is why you just happened to have a vid cam with you and be able to shoot that...

  • Maybe because he's watching this from his home window so he just grabbed his camera?

  • fuck! i knew i shouldnt have plugged in that faulty nulear fusion reactor!

  • popcorns :D

  • jheeuujj, firework crackerzz

  • don´t they have circuit breakers? ^^

  • this was after the transformer, so no, no cbs

  • but shouldn't that have shorted out the transformer, and stopped the current flowing?

  • Maybe after awhile, the transformer is limited anyways, I would expect about 600-1200 amps shorting here.

  • The fuses or breaker are there to protect the grid, not the transformer. In many cases a shorted secondary on a transformer will not pop the fuse (which is on the primary) unless it's a really bad short, but in cases like this that rarely happens as the wires repel each other due to the strong opposing magnetic field caused by the high current.

  • So the trasformer wont shut down when a short occurs it just keep pumping up power. In Australia they shut down and try to restart if they cant they shut down until a crew can come out

  • that mean protecting device doesnt work malfunctioning, short circuit prot4ection or ground portection. or maybe they dont have such device lol.

  • THere are other types of protection like reclosers and such but it depends on where in the systems and the voltage is.

  • such protection are always before the load.

  • popcorn :-DD

  • It's weird that whenever something crazy happens, people just happen to have a camera!

  • Ummmmm, Hydro people we got a... ummm slight malfunction....

  • Cameraman's thoughts: Oh well... there goes my porn xD

  • you can tell by the look its electricity but it looks and sounds like fireworks strapped to it and lit on fire

  • It sounds like fireworks or popcorn popping

  • get out of there lol, i would've been scared

  • was that an internet wire too many people looking at porn eh thats why it went on fire :P

  • I completely agree with you, I am the cameraman of this stuff and I would have never thought there would be so much people watching and commenting this vid!

  • Ohms Law.

  • its AC

  • damn it i cant see

  • Not a very good cameraman....Looks like a network secondary burn, won't stop until the wire is burned clean through...

  • Sounds like a fire cracker poppin, looks like it too, but it's electricity.... COOL!!!

  • Hey dumbass, how do you know he didn't call? How do you know his g/f wasn't calling while he filmed? It can take a LONG time to get power shut off.

The only way someone could get hurt is if they walk right up to the pole and either touch the conductors on the pole or get hit by hot metal falling down. Do you REALLY think someone will not notice the noise and flashes? Even a deaf and blind person wouldn't do that - their dog would not go near it.

    YOU are the idiot.

  • My god, how did that not trip protection relays at the substation?

  • Take cover!! I'm taking fire!

  • wow,i see those every july 1,Canada day!!!nice fireworks!!!

  • bahahaha owned.

  • burn muterfucker burn!!

  • Fireworks !

  • Ha Ha... stand under the pole, that's connected by wire, to the pole having issues.

  • MAMAMIA!

  • VAGINA

  • better safe than dead.....

  • popcorn!

  • It makes you wanna just go up and hug it!

  • It's so boring bot i can't look away

  • Whoa!.....That is one bad cameramanship.

  • nice view of the wall.......... definitley a pussy with a camera!

  • Ya , it is very smart to be right next to a electrical fire. I think he did a good job filming.

    Better than being toast.

  • MOM some on put the toster in the bathtub lol

  • ha ha thats funny!!

  • Happy 4th Of July!

  • I concur...pussy with the camera lol

  • Two words,"Popcorns ready."

  • wtf 4 juli?

  • When these things happen, you get serious amounts of current flowing, like 1-10kA...

Increase of current lowers the voltage, lower the voltage and u cant transfer the current, add a bit of distance to it and way to big fuses, then these things happen...

  • Since when is Amparage = current?!!

Current is in Volts. NOT in Ampere.

  • Well.. Wiki says around 1600.

See; "Electric current is the flow (movement) of electric charge. The SI unit of electric current is the ampere (A), which is equal to a flow of one coulomb of charge per second."

    You know, just sayin'.

  • VADF1985, current or electron flow is expressed in amperes. Electromotive force is expressed in voltage.

  • you are an idiot. current is measured in amps.

  • Reminds me of the last time I ate baked beans....

  • Take cover!! I'm taking fire!

  • It's no use ducking behind the column, it the telly behind you that's gonna blow up!

  • and the cam is prob pluged in coz the bat was flat...hahahaha

  • there is no auto reclose on Low Voltage. It is only on High Voltage. The fuses i highly doubt blew as it kept arcing if they blew it would have shut out. I have seen wires clash and clash and not one fuse ever blew. There is no back feed on this either, You can get back feed if they shut in other Parralles to do that but you only do that when one line is over loaded or you are shutting out a section or line and need it feed from another sub.

  • you guys make bad asumptions, being a lineman, the line fuses did blow and singled out the rest of the primary, but the secondary is feeding more that 1 business if its a underground riser pole, which means that backfeed is possible present, the secondary will melt away like it did since it is only aluminum wire, but once it hit the primary the fuses did blow you heard i think it was 3 pops after the fire went out, that was the recloser trying to isolate it.

  • calla comemierda

  • It is only Low Voltage wires up there. High Voltage have the disc insulators when the cables are strained, also when it is high voltage there is only 3 wires not 4. High voltage doesnt have a neutral that runs with it. No reason why the fuses would not blow cause they dont always do that. I have seen the 3 phases and the neutral all bare wires wrapped together and still alive and sparking on the ground, they might have been far enough from where the nearest fuses were to not blow them.

  • Basically here you have wires in a metal tube running up the pole, if a wire arcs to the tube, it will keep doing it, welding/melting/fusing the tube as it goes until the wires separate out at the top. A back room at my old work had the power meters in it, the hair salon meter wiring threw a tantrum one day... A bad connection nearby BBQ'ed it, the wires frying in the tube down and across 6 feet, almost to the big junction box in the back of the room!

  • Interesting. Must have been some crap protection on that line for it to keep going like that!

  • Hi motherfuckers, I am the crap cameraman, indeed it's bad but in the street, there were a lot of cops during this incident, and i didnt want to be caught, that's all!

  • Actually, getting inside the house was the right thing to do. If those lines fell they'll start weaving all over the place and arcing. That could be 1,000 to 13,000 volts, enough to kil you instantly.

And fry a perfectly good video camera.

  • It is LOW voltage! Again: LOW voltage. It's maybe 120 volts at high amperage.

  • @VADF1985 nope, it's 220-230 volts but at VERY high amperage.

  • I agree with ct92404 When I was 16 I hooked up 120 volts directly to a super small capacitor I got out of a radio and it blew up like a fire cracker (COOL)!

But hiding behind a wall it a bit much. I found myself leaning to the left during the whole video. Thanks anyway for the video. It's better than no video at all. Thanks adadaprod and YouTube!

  • OUt there? The cameraperson is inside watching it out a window.

  • you ouuuuu..I'm so afraid watching this video!!

  • why didn't the camra guy get out there more? its not going to arc to you!

  • Well, to be fair, there are components on a power transmission line that can EXPLODE if they fail, like power factor correction capacitors, transformers, oil-filled fuses, etc. This guy probably didn't know what it was going to do so yeah it can be scary. A blown capacitor will fling superheated metal across the street. It's obvious most of you don't know anything about electricity, so lay off.

  • I dont want to call you a pussy, I really dont. But, pussy.

  • Is it over!!! lol.

  • at least film the fire and not the wall what a moron

  • what a crap cameraman. such a pussy!

  • well..betetr then nothing. But why were you hiding exactly? I wouldnt stand right under it, but hiding is a bit...i dont know...weak.

  • Yep I agree, when stuff like happens and you a video camera at your disposal, FILM IT WELL! In this scenario not much to be afraid of, just be aware of where the lines may fall, if they fall. From where you're standing, you're perfectly safe and could have got closer (don't be under the lines).

  • I'm sick of the stupid errors on youtube that wont let you post comment...Crappy camera work by the way....

  • Why is this guy shaking the camera and hiding like a little girl, get out and film it.

  • Sypily - Simotamisoly it acts like lightning.

  • Yeah Arcing electricity makes people nervous...go figure

  • nice view of the wall u were hiding behind

  • Why do weird / cool / mad things only happen when people who can't use a video camera properly are around?

  • that's also my thought ..

  • LOL also what i was thinkin but i guess some people would be rilly nwevous but still walk across the street and film u dont have to get close
