  • I thought Dale Jarrett retired in 2007? That or he announced is retirement in 2007.

  • @Twister82697 no it was at bristol in 2008

  • @24nascardiehard Oh I recalled that he never drove the 44 while the COT was in full use.

  • BETTER than Marubaku

  • Excellently done, but at 0:47 it's "im-PAL-uh", with the "pal" being pronounced like "palace".

  • very good i liked it. i also liked fox's starting lineup for this race, it had a MRN feel with all the drivers introducing themselves

  • I liked this, I miss the old broadcasters... Some are still good, like the FOX guys, and DJ has stepped up, but others... Not so much, you could turn TNT around if they hired you.

  • That was phenomenal! You totally sounded like either a carbon copy of Ken Squire minus the voice or one of the guys from MRN radio! You brought the passion of announcing a line-up and then putting all the little details like where the driver was from, who won what, how long has it been since a car race there...etc. That's the way your suppose to capture an audience! It's unfortunate that nowadays fans have to listen to "bland" announcers on TV, but at least the radio crew is still the same

  • @RazorRC3 R.I.P. CBS-NASCAR

  • I think Ken Squier would be proud of that. That was great.

  • Very, very impressive!! It's just as cool as the MRN starting line ups with the actual drivers speaking. Finally...a starting line up intro with some character! That's one of many things that are missing from today's Cup coverage. Very good job!

  • I miss these old Starting line-ups, Awesome work!

  • As a matter of fact, he did, TailsGuy. :) Zimmer has quite a diverse resume, including the scores to the Wallace and Gromit film "Curse of the Were-Rabbit," the Anime series "Blood+" and even "Driving Miss Daisy!"

  • Tnx i rymenber Zimmer makes great Soundtrack for Days of Thunder movie

  • What name of song in backgrund?

  • "Las Vegas" by Hans Zimmer, from the sountrack to the movie "Rain Man."

  • Man you would be a great commentator.I could've sworn I was watching nascar on fox.

  • CBS That's The Grid (Great Creation)

  • Yeah, I fixed the car photos after this grid and they seem to look a lot better.

As for race clips, that's one thing I've been thinking of to add to future grids. I need to experiment a bit first.

  • man i dont understand why they dont do lineups like this anymore, they just scroll it on the bottom and BS.

  • Ken Squire would be proud. This is accurate of how they used to do the old school CBS Daytona 500 line ups

  • Hell Yeah, Man!!!!

  • 1988 graphics... I LOVE IT!!!

  • Good job man, the only thing this is missing is Jimmy "Smut" Means.

  • LOL Yeah, that would've made it complete. :)

  • they should have done this really cool

  • Yeah, that's one of the things I'm working on fixing in my next grid video.

  • Really Good Pre-Race Starting Line Up for the 50th Running of the Daytona 500!!!!!

  • This is good, you had relevant information on all the drivers.

You shouldn't just wait for someone to email you, try going to a local short track and seeing if they need an announcer or some kind of help in that department. There's also broadcasting school; education and experience are usually what people are looking for.

  • FAKE LINEUP!!!!!!

  • you're so smart!

  • Lovely stuff!

  • WOW

    That is just...AMAZING

Now...if they'd just bring back Ken Squier?

    DK

  • Congrats to "The Rocketman"

  • RYAN NEWMAN WINS THE DAYTONA 500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG...im about to die right about now...i would be really pissed off if this was a dream...lol...wooo hooo!!!

  • This sounds like the music to the 1990 Daytona 500 lineup. Is that where you got it?

  • It is that music, chicagocub, but you can get it from the soundtrack to the movie "Rain Man" by Hans Zimmer. The track is called "Las Vegas."

  • thanks man.

  • pretty sweet

  • Great stuff, loved it.

  • Race is just now over, Ryan Newman won it for the 1st time in his career.

His 1st win since New Hampshire in the fall of 2005.

  • good job. Wish they showed proper starting lineups like they used to.

  • Ken Squier is from vermont

  • This is very well done, man. Good work.

  • oh my god their airing this tomorow arent they! :D:D:D lucky man

  • dude seriously that was really good, the only thing I found wrong is you called Matt Kenseth a titlist when you could have just said champion.

  • Seriously, the only way this could be better were if Squier himself were doing this.

  • Well I think TNT should give you a call because you're definitely better than Bill Weber!

The only thing I would have done differently is use the music from the mid 80s starting grids, but this was very well put together.

  • Thank you very much, risnuff! And I would most certainly take that call if they made it!

  • Creative AND nostalgic! Great job!

  • That was awesome dude! Fox should bring back that type of starting lineup just for that race! Thanks for the video man!

  • i heard they r.....darrell r mike joy said during final practice that they r doing somthing "neat" for the starting line-ups

  • thank you naudeau 1064

  • thnak you 1064

  • great job

  • Commentating is my dream too. Amazing job!

  • nice, I too wish to be a commentator, maybe our paths will cross one day.

  • They just might, rustyshackleford; best of luck to you. :)

  • Nice.

  • go gordon!!!

  • Very very creative, and nice voiceover on this as well.

  • Wow, I will say that was truly creative man, awesome!

  • Nice job, bring back Nascar CBS!! 2014, lol
