  • this music is the sum of all of the time spent developing this instrument perfected.

  • holy shit.

  • what a so beautiful music world!!!!!!!! thanks a lot for all this humanity! peace, music and love, for ever!............!

  • rather listen to this interesting music , instead of "mamama, poker faaace"-spit.

  • WOW that was amazing i could listen to that for hours...such a beauiful sound

  • she hand like spider....

  • Wu Li's technique is excellent, but this piece feels so cold to me. Not like sadness, but devoid of human spirit.

  • so beautiful... thank you

  • this is so great

  • Watch Wu Li plays Hunt in Wind. Truly a virtuoso. Innovative technique. But I prefer this piece of Tao Yi Mo's works...the harmony. Thanks for posting.

  • wow this is amazingly beautiful, and it seems to me to be both traditional and a fusion perhaps of some western elements as well. if not, no big deal, no offense meant. i just think it is so beautiful, i push play and lay back in my recliner and rest like a baby.

  • Excellent ! I do not like modern Chinese Gu Zheng music too much, but this one is different.

  • @wingplum , my feeling is the same as yours.

  • THank you , very nice harmonic

  • what can I say? I'm blown away, I've never even dreamed of hearing something like this!!! Such a striking talent, technique, composition and instrument!!!

By the way, this is close to latvian Kokle, lithuanian Kankle, Russian Gusli too, I guess. I'm learning kokle for a few years, and, even if this instrument is different, this is a perfect lesson of how great you can be! I enjoyed it very much, thank you for posting this!!! I wish to learn it too,but suppose,Latvia is too far from China... :)

  • Where there are Chinese immigrants, there are guzheng teachers. You might ask the local Chinese club to get the imformation.

  • good

  • This is some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard. Very talented.

  • Oh!!!!!!!!!!

really one day, i would like to play piano with you!!!!!!!!

when you play guzheng, i mean about debussy and ravel...

To find bridges between our cultures could really be interestning!!!!

    please remember "J.Y.P." !!!

one day maybe... i'll be i china soon!!

    JYP

  • Wow. This is awe-inspiring.

  • This is high class zither playing. Superb!!!

  • wow i think i'm in love with this instrument. it's like classical guitar.. but different. where can i learn it? in america..

  • this is good i always wanted to look this instrument up it is really good at 3:50 i was blown away how do u memorize it so many strings

  • The mind adjusts to the demands placed upon it

  • its like the harp, some strings are color coded so you can recognize the octave. other then that front= lower sound, and the closer part to you is the higher sound. music is patterns, when you get to know your instrument enough you just know what comes next. its like a natural flow... its really quite bliss to reach that state:)

  • yeah that was pretty crazy

  • i suppose it's the same with a piano. there are so many keys, but somehow, some people memorises how to play a certain song.(those who play by ear)

  • This artist is amazing at her craft. I have been in a trance for the last 10 minutes. This is my favorite of the Traditional Chinese instruments. I have always wanted to learn, and just might have found my inspiration.

  • awesome!

  • I wish i could play like her.

  • sometimes it looks like she's not even touching the strings but music just comes out.. and she doesnt look like she's makin an effort.. so amazing!! my new idol! now i will try to play like her in 2 years, hello life of practicing.. =D

  • For the first time hearing this - I'm almost in a trance. Very beautiful and well played by such a talented musician. Thank you!

  • its very sentimental...i like it

  • 5 Stars. Her playing style and the music match perfectly. This is something that any westerner could easily understand. It has the flavor of French impressionism. Very refined and elegant I hope the composer and performer makes it "big enough" so I can hear more of this collaboration in the west.

  • Amazing! ...and I love her pretty green blouse too. :-)

  • I want to learn how to play the chinese zither but there arent any teachers from my area T_T

  • every guzheng players has their own style of playing guzheng. thats why you should teach yourself.

  • That's a really pure "eurasian" sound- that's what I call WORLD MUSIC!

Fantastic, one of the best music I've ever heard with Guzheng!!

    Yours from Germany,

    Volker

  • I agree with your ( Volker400 )comments. I always enjoy Guzheng.

    Thanks,

    Tomwong100

  • How is it euro? Both composer and performer are chinese. Also, is introducing urself necessary?

  • Hello, my dear "Dollar". You're absolutely right.

Both of them - composer and performer are chinese. But the tone-scale which sounds here isn't the typical chinese-style. Sounds more like european or american-"stylish".

Sorry about my bad English- I hope you understand my "nonsense".

    Best regards from Germany,

    Volker

  • it is tuned in pentatonic scale in any pithch.

  • what are you talking about... guzheng was invented way before europe even thought that things lived in asia. it has nothing to do with europe since it's just a modification of the 4000 year old guqin. europe copied china just like paper and bombs

  • You absolutely misunderstood me!! I'm not talking about Guzheng! I'm talking about the tone-scale, the tuning of the Guzheng, and that is, in this case, absolutely european played also with chinese technique!!

So, also you can say: Guzheng played between two "worlds"- chinese (sound of the guzheng) and european (only meant the tuning and tone scale).

BTW, I think, Guzheng and Guqin are the most

    beatifull instruments I've ever heard.

And BTW: I also play Guzheng!!

    Best regards

    Volker

  • hello wu, can u please tell me where i could get the music?

  • all of the below.

    amazing beyond belief .

  • i think you're right. still sounds beautiful tho

  • It's specially tuned,not traditional chinese 5-scale tune.

  • Amazing. Beautiful. It's wonderful to hear such an ancient instrument played so well. My goodness that was wonderful.

  • Nive to hear such good playing. I live in Norway and we have no tradition with this instrument. But I play some german zither. This was more than good. Evergood.

    Real nice.

  • Her play is tender and soft. The way she use her left hand is real good. Apsolute beautiful played. I live in Norway and we have now tradition for this play, we have other zither forms, but this was real good.

Thanks. I play some sither myself. German zither.

  • is she really playing the instrument? it doesn't look at all as if the strings move, or that she's really touching the strings!!

  • Exquisite! Incredible skills in both hands.
