Correct me if I'm wrong, Adam, but I think you mentioned Sanford and Son in one of your raw beginners videos. Regardless, keep harpin' it up for all of us YouTubers.
adam how do you play blues freestyling with no music i can't seem to do it i have the feel and the passion for the harmonica but can't play without a beat since i learned by ear also i want to have an awesome sound but still sound unique and original without copying anybody elses licks any advice for that watch my vids and let me know if my styles my own and if it's possible to build off of it and progress..
Hello, i cant read This video on my iPhone. A new option in you tube : when you send your video on you tube, There is a option: " autorise people to read This video on an mobil phones." tanks!
Adam Gussow is "The Man." This is the greatest harmonica instruction, period. Thanks for doing such a fantastic job and really making it so fun to learn. The album "Kick and Stomp" rocks, too.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, ADAM!!! Thank you once again for being a world-class mentor. You have literally changed my life and my entire direction as a musician. I have bounced from style to style and countless different mechanisms of musical expression, but finally, thanks to your influence, I have finally found my niche. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Aside from getting the 1/2 steps and whole steps cleanly in tune, I'm also now working on trying to capture that sweet vibrato tone you get on the 1 draw (@6:06).
Thanks as always for inspiring me to tend to my too-often neglected stepchild (that is, blues harmonica).
That was awesome! Thanks for posting. I've grabbed by harmonica, but I think that I should wait until the morning since it's likely that I'll wake my family.
Nicely done. I'll definitely be adding this to my repertoire. My personal favorite tv show theme: Rockford Files... some nice harmonica riffs in there, too.
i really appreciate someone with such talent and knowledge taking the time to explain an instrument the right way... I picked up the harp and very quickly found your videos... then lost my Bb marine band in the fox river (the harp you recommended) and haven't played since... this video just made me decide to buy a new harp and start playing again. thank you for you dedication to the art
Adam, I would like to thank you for this. I have only been playing on a regular basis for about a year now, but have wanted to see an adaptation of this song for years! It is my ring tone on my phone and gets great comments out in public when it rings! Anyway, I just came across your vids a couple weeks ago, and you have already helped my playing greatly. Congrats on the four year mark and I hope to be listening and watching and playing along in another four!! Keep it up!
@ArtofDreaming1: I did a bit of that in the first year of this series, back in 2007. YouTube search: gussow harmonica c c rider, for example.....also: gussow harmonica groovy people
I wonder what it was those four years ago, to the very day, that made you turn on your camera and share your harp skills with the rest of the world. Must've been something about that day
Love the vids, being a 45 yr old beginning harp player I am learning as I watch. This time as I tried to play along and I finally got the warble to sound decent (did no justice to the rest of the song). Keep puttin them up here and I will keep learning. Thanks
For sure, there is something of "Sanford and Son" in your garage! I'm one of your biggest fan but would you mind if I tell you that ? => I think your adaptation is great but it would be nicer (to my ears) if you could add some modulation with your foot drum (using more or less strength, Deak Harp is doing like this sometimes and he drives the people crazy). Anyway, I love your energy and your unique style.
well Kudzu it was nice but my brain only holds certain parts of the song and just probably the opening. thanks Kudzu I wish I was your neighbor and learn more from ya.
dood u r my hero ive just got my harmonica and i hope to b as good as u help tony i shall start at the beginning of you clips

By the way, I think you mentioned it in passing early on when you were discussing people's preconceived notions of harmonica.
Great stuff as always!
