@bildtker76 a few years ago i lived in NC in the USA, my mom and pop were flying from amsterdam to detriot then onwards to dulles. first they were bumped due to overbooked, asked NW to contact me, nothing, then the flight they did get on went to min/stpaul. i spoke to NW asked where they were was told they had landed in detriot. long stoey but ended up sueing the crap airline. good ridence
@mobility12: I live in Germany and we didn't have a direct connection/non-stop flight to Seattle until 2008. Amsterdam is a big hub in Europe for connecting flights to other destinations. So i assume it's a good idea for Delta Air Lines to have a link to EHAM/AMS.
@mobility12 i guess Amsterdam is just the best airport for northeuropean/northwest american flights. There are many germans and scandinavians living out there in the northwest. So you can take short regionalflights from scandinavia, central and west europe, to Amsterdam. And from my experience, this small to big Aircraft switching also saves you some money which you may want to spend at your final destination! :)
The flight time was about 9 1/2 hours. We crossed Greenland because it is the shortest connection between Amsterdam and Seattle. You have to keep in mind that our earth is a sphere and so it includes a ride close to the Arctic on the way to Emerald city...
you had it lucky...normal flight time for that time of year from AMS-SEA is 11hours...i flew AMS-DTW back in Feb 2008 and it took us 9.5 hours due to a 90knot head wind an you could sure feel it...on the flip side, flight loads are usually light to and from AMS in Jan-Apr due to the weather in AMS.
@bitmuster I never got the point of kids crying on planes. There not scary. the only time i could think it would be fitting is takeoff and landing. when I was 5 or 6, I was a bit nervous about takeoffs!
So long NWA

@mobility12 yes, amsterdam was one of northwest's hubs. Delta acquired it from the merger.

The seats looks like leather seats, were they leather seats ?
I'm asking that because NWA's A330 doesn't have leather seats.
