this does seem like a very nice mini-laptop. i was asking my dad for a laptop for my birthday but i was worried the 11.6 inch screen might not be big enough. in terms of vision i can see just fine without glasses and all i need a laptop for is web surfing youtube, forums and writing documents.

@ecerizer Yeah, it's pretty awesome! It's cute, too. The downfall is the webcam, though. It's too darn dark and I don't think you can configure it's settings. It also comes with Skype pre-installed! :D You can always un-install it if you don't want it.

Read that the 1105ha comes with a 1.3 Ghz proc instead of the 1005ha( which has a 1,6 Ghz). Can anybody tell me if that makes a noticable difference? (And while where at it, can somebody explain me why asus made this weird choice...)

the 1101ha sports the 1.3Ghz Silverthorne which is way slower than the N270 with 1.6Ghz! It's noticeable

Thanks for the response. Downside is that that means I don't want the 1101ha, weird choice from asus! Only other options are samsung n510 (lot more expensive) or HP 311 (net yet available in holland). So many netbooks yet no perfect one for me damnit:P

But the 1101HA comes with the overclockable option, which you can easily choose among 3 modes and can turn it up to 1.7+Ghz. I don´t know why anyone have mentioned this here.

I am either getting 1005HA or 1101HA for like 100 dollars more, the only difference really is the screen size on the latter right? Is it worth spending that much more?

I'm going to use it for studying primarily.

The biggest different is you'll see longer battery life in the 1005HA. Its one of the top 3 units in my opinion for battery life. If you find you need it a little quicker just upgrade to 2G of RAM.

If you are just using it for notes, power point & surfing both will suit your needs just fine. I might spend the extra money on a carrying case or an extra battery, you could go 16 hours non stop in the library. . .although that could be a down side ;)

hi i just bought the both 1005 ha and 1101

the diffents are

firsr of all 100 euro

the 11 has 250 Giga as HD 2 g RAM and the size of the screen is nice

the 10 has 160 GB as HD and 1 GB as ram with small screen which is some how very small to use nevertheless the sound of 10 was much much better than of 11

they had some pre-production samples with the Z530 during the show, which is the 1.6Ghz version but unfortunately it entered the market just with the Z520.

Get the 1000HE or 1005HA. It's the better Eee PC for your money

Actually, I have bought the 1000HE yesterday and i'm not happy with it, It is to slow for me, videos barely run (especially on HD in youtube) and that's a shame, I think I'll return it tommorow.

Yep. I don't need a DVD drive anymore, so the smaller size and price is well worth the trade in. Netbooks are the way to go now, especially since the components inside are pretty good compared to when they first came out.
