The USA team should have hired the coach from the Butler Bulldogs, that guy is an awesome coach!!!! He took Butler all the way to the NCAA final last basketball season, his defensive coaching is near perfect even with short players, that guy would do some serious damage in this FIBA tournament.

Second string USA is pretty good. Pau-less Spain is pretty good as well. If only the US had a traditional low post scoring big man (Odom is good but he's just not BIG enough) then I'd say they are a complete team. Bynum would've been terrific but he's repairing his knee. Derrick Rose is a beast (he's Dwyane Wade Lite lol) and Durant is spectacular all around. I think they can win it all but we'll have to see if they'll truly overcome this glaring weakness.

@ewabound57 not necessarily. theres a lot of fringe players who just choose to stay in their home country because theyre more popular there and make the same or even more money. Some examples are JC Navarro (was a solid 6th man his single year in the league) and Theo Papaloukas.

THE USA is top in the world basketball wise, Europe wins in SOCCER... but USA wins BASKETBALL... period... Just cuz the USA didn't win Gold once in the Olympics in 2004 and in the World Championships 2006, they have DOMINATED ever since.. no team has come close to dethroning them.

Spain lost on their home floor, they had most of their guys from 2008, USA had their "B" team (second best) and they still won... and this was USA B team's second game playing together and they haven't played together like Spains... The USA have the best basketball AND the best players. Period.The best basketball are DONE by the best players. In the NBA, it's a different style, teams have to play Man-to-Man and less ZONE defense (like what the Europeans play most) because defense and not offense wins championships.

This was only our USA's team's second game together playing against Spain who are the best europe, who played together for years, and in their home court yet we still led throughout the game and overcame bad officiating to win. If spain played the US in the world championship finals instead of Turkey, US would kill them by around 20 points. We blew out the teams that beat Spain in the 2010 world championships so do the math

The USA team should have hired the coach from the Butler Bulldogs, that guy is an awesome coach!!!! He took Butler all the way to the NCAA final last basketball season, his defensive coaching is near perfect even with short players, that guy would do some serious damage in this FIBA tournament.

IF USA basketball is going to apply the college basketball coach route to coach NBA players in these tournaments, i'd suggest consistent proven winners like Bill Self, Roy Williams, or former NBA coaches that are now in College like John Calipari or Rick Patino,

Second string USA is pretty good. Pau-less Spain is pretty good as well. If only the US had a traditional low post scoring big man (Odom is good but he's just not BIG enough) then I'd say they are a complete team. Bynum would've been terrific but he's repairing his knee. Derrick Rose is a beast (he's Dwyane Wade Lite lol) and Durant is spectacular all around. I think they can win it all but we'll have to see if they'll truly overcome this glaring weakness.

No voy a discutir que USA es la primera potencia mundial en baloncesto, pero este equipo americano va a tener serias dificultades para ganar el mundial de Turquía. Equipos como Serbia o España pueden darle un verdadero susto; de hecho, si España hubiese jugado la primera parte al nivel de la segunda, probablemente USA hubiese perdido por más de 10 puntos.

西班牙真的打的很好 實在可惜最後還是輸了 這場比賽我發現國際裁判好像對走步違例比較鬆 尤其都不太抓西班牙選手走步 選手動作快、裁判角度問題的話就算了 可是很多時候例如08:03裁判就站在西班牙15選手旁 走步違例這麼明顯也沒吹判 可能不專心喔
