You can actually persuade her to the light side with if your persuade is high enough. Persuade her to recite the Jedi code, she will recite it, then tell you she is ready to face her fate. Then if you sucessfully persuade her to look into her heart and find the light, she will say "I know a flicker of the light still burns within me etc".

Well, there are other party members you need on that planet as well. HK-47 for translation issues with the Tuskens and Canderous for his confrontation with Jagi.

But if you don't use Mission and Bastila together other than Tatooine, then you will always get this converstation on Tatooine only. That's logic. ;)

There is a mod called, All Jedi Party which makes all of your party members Jedi (or Sith) and Shem should know cause he's a vital importance on kotorfiles
