my cammed 01 zo6 & h/c c5, no where near the same as a stock c6z. the procharged c5z in question just got his motor rebuilt and it making 600ish and is doing final tuning-will get those on vid and post here. my z now makes 530 cam only and traps 130- stock made 460/435 and trapped 123+ in summer heat. you might want to go out there and actually race and not make comments on what you know shit about.

@fnqwk I'm pretty sure the c5 wasn't spraying. It's only down 30 horses and at that high of hp levels 30 rwhp isn't that big of a percent difference. The c6 is clearly faster but that is a nice c5. I want to build something similar

I had a 01 SS (LS1 bolt on) that ran 11's now I have a C6Z. In the 1/4 the SS has the advantage but in a roll race the Z has it . But that will change once I get DR's and the Driver mod.

I own a 1995 Mustang GT, but it's got LOTS of miles on it... I'm getting tired of all the wasted money.

I wanna buy a C5, I need some advice on it.

Do they break often? Are they expensive to mod? and what would be a good paying price for one? an 01 maybe or so, And also is there really any major differences past the 01, I think some changed were made like 5 HP more or so, if you can vie em some advice on C5's I'd appreciate it! thanks!

@Roger0416 Hello C5 are really great cars I daily drove my Twin turbo ZO6 for 25k No problems at all just reguler stuff Oil . Break pads .

The mods are not that expensive you can get a Long tube headers , Intake and cam and be over 400+rwhp on the dyno and daily drive too.

All C5 have LS1 Engines 345hp but your talking about C5 ZO6 01 385hp

02-04 405hp

Search Corvette Forum you can find a clean high mileage 01 C5 ZO6 for 14-18k

Very nice car unless you want C5 for Targa top.

@venomws6 Hey. I am very familiar with cars like mine (95 z28) and have done my research on them, but c5's seem to be your forte. I have a few questions about the c5 because you've done your research:

1. Can the stock rear end handle the 400 whp? If so, I shouldn't have to worry about it with headers, cam?

2. Is it possible to run headers, ORY, with cutout through the stock exhaust? I've made the "mistake" of getting a catback when I feel I could've just ran headers with an ORY and cutout.

@wally2714 The Corvette stock rearend will handle a lot more than

400rwhp I have couple of friends with over 700rwhp with stock rear my car included is was over 550rwhp no problems at all unless you have huge tires and do a lot of high RPM launchs at 1/4...

The Corvette doesnt have ORY the stock is H-pipe and all aftermarket is X-pipe

and yes you can run Headers . ORX and cutout with stock catback in my opinion this a great choice since the aftermarket catback cost over $650 maybe more.

I understand that a vette with low miles is good, but maybe one with 120,000 miles would be better to buy than one with 70,000 miles because they might've done the repairs prior to me buying? My z28 (bought with 70,000 miles) and had to put a few grand into it, respectivly (optispark, water pump, ti-rod ends, few others)

means the car has high lift camshaft and it's not the Z06 it's the C5. You can tell it's got high lift cams when you hear the rough idle at the start of the movie.
