Geanie carriage (trolley) is a part that will have to be replaced on motors that have it, it's like getting a tune up on your car & changing the filter, that doesn't mean Geanie doesn't do a good job on their motors, it's a maintenance part, every motor in the market eventually needs some sort of maintenance / replacement part. Usually the teeth on it wear out after you've had your motor for at least 5 years, don't buy a new motor just because you need a new carriage.
The piece connecting the door arm to the motor rail has a small line of teeth on it, and the teeth can be stripped out over time, especially if you have a heavy door. Check on eBay or one of the many garage door sites on the internet. They aren't that expensive. either.
Glad to hear it's back to normal. Genie should have designed that carriage a bit stronger. A steel screw with aluminum teeth... yeah... that's gonna hold up on a heavy door. LOL
Any other questions or comments, feel free to drop me a line.
Yeah that's fine. The magnetic system is why the opener is able to slow down as it reaches its limits. The switch gradually picks up the magnet on the carriage, and slows the motor as the carriage approaches. Sometimes they are sensitive enough, the carriage just has to be close to the switch to stop it.
im sorry i meant to say they the magnet that connects the carriage to the screw and they dont touch is that ok and hey check out my garage door opener tell me what u think its the one that says redesigned to lift heavier doors its homeade and miniture
