Man, don't bitch. They're just riffing on a classic theme, having a good time with it. I wouldn't be surprised if they hadn't even rehearsed it, just broke it out for fun. I love "Round Midnight" but I'm personally glad they didn't try and make it sound like Bill Evans. Plus, you know if Miles was still around his take wouldn't sound like a classic version.

I second your comment. "Round Midnight" is among my best 3 jazz favorites alongside with "So What" and Corea's own "Spain". This is just about the worst rendition of the masterpiece. "Round Midnight" for Christ sake!! And this sounds more like a rehearsal.

The Guitar sound is awful. Even though they are giants, this leaves me with nothing. The feeling and intention of the song is not there. If you're going to play out, at least play with some heart.

well if there's something Chick and John can't do is play straight ahead, classic jazz how it's supposed to be done. It's just not their style. Not even the akoustic band made it sound quite the same as, lets say, a Bill Evans trio, or a Miles Davis band. Times change, and so does music.
