Can't believe I found SuperHost after all these years!! My son loved this show, couldn't tear him away from the TV when Supe came On!! From Pgh, PA, WUAB was the 1st out of town station we got back then. Watched the Convoy skit, LMAO...still hilarious after all these years!!
This was lke the first cable channle Pittsburghers coud get and I loved this show every Saturday. The guy was hysterical just to look at. Loved his Fat Whitman imitation! Thanks Jethro for posting this!
@zalewskimm I'm from Pgh, also. This was the 1st station back then, WOR came next. My son loved Supe's On, so did I....LMAO watching these videos after all this time..priceless!!!!!
Wow! Weren't Satuday mornings the greatest back then. Cartoons on all morning, then Superhost all afternoon. Man, I wouldn't mind going back in time for one weekend. Anyone care to join me?
WOW, All I can remember about this show was him calling someone & he spun a wheel. The caller has to tell super host who was the person the wheel landed on!!! MEMORIES!!!
I used to watch this show back in 1977 and 1978 and maybe 79. I lived near Pittsburgh, but was able to get WUAB out of Cleveland, OH I loved watching the monster movies on Super Host. What memories.
20 years, where'd they go? 20 years, I don't know...
More like 35 years for me. Gotta throw Hoolie and BC in there, a Chef Boy-R-Dee pizza, some popcorn and some kool-aid, and we were good all weekend! sniff sniff Where did it all go??
Watched him every Saturday on WUAB channel 43 while growing up. He did evening news updates and is now happily retired in Oregon I believe. He and "Barnarby" are good friends. They don't have many personilities for kids on TV any more. Thanks for the memories!!
A mere mortal would not be able to take a pair of long johns, red boxer shorts, a cape, and some grade Z monster movies and become a legend. But Marty "Superhost" Sullivan was no mere mortal.
You know what's interesting is a few months back I was trying to remember Marty Sullivan's voice and his voice overs and when occasionally 43 would have in on doing the odd news casts. It's cool to hear his voice again.
I like how you can see the shoelace dangling at the top of the screen before the guy 'caught' the shoe from mid-air.:o)

Just hearing the intro music when I was a kid, I used to get all excited, knowing I was about to watch the Three Stooges and a Godzilla movie.

Good memories from a simpler time...the sound of a theremin, and a bad space movie from the 1950s..priceless.
