  • My PC used to crash sometimes, then I actually learned how to use it.

  • leica users to a T.

  • Im watching this on TV and OMFG they are flat out lying about so many things.

I saw them tak about iMacs being a success - look for problem with mac on youtube - they are a better boat anchor than a computer.

The lie about USB being pushed by Apple. FALSE. Firewire true, USB lie.

Apple DID need 150 million from MS, it wasnt a marking ploy. They needed the money period.

Oh and BTW the original mac died n 2000. They went to OSX because they were dead to begin with.

  • sorry, but i've never seen such bullshit in my life. Yes, there are some who blindly follow. However, I am not one of them, I'd been a PC user my whole life, got a Mac a couple of weeks back, and am WAY happier for it. It performs amazingly well (about as well as a custom built machine i have of two years ago, better in some areas), and it runs Windows (via bootcamp) better than any standard PC i've ever used. With Macs, you are nearly always getting quality, and they're well worth their cost.

  • @j800r quality... but you're also paying for the brand. +39348 dollars.

  • @j800r Spoken like a true cultist.

  • Brands, pop stars, movies; military cults (USMC, et al), cop cults, business cults, government cults, religious cults, academic cults (schooling programs you to function within your culture, cult-ure, your-cult), the cult of science - all of them are about control: to control your mind, to control your wallet, and thus control your world view and the perceptual data and how you interpret it as "reality."

Cultists don't know they are cultists in the same way fish don't know they're wet.

  • As a former PC user, I have made the switch because of actual performance, quality and value: a truly quiet computer without costly silent coolers needed for a PC for the same silence, bundled fully functional software suites including iLife, integrated software and hardware solution for reliable robust performance, and Bootcamp for using all your favorite windows software. In short, there are actual advantages with the iMac, especially the 27" screen model with led light display.

  • I work for a satellite imaging company. Theoretically Mac is supposed to shine in this field, but it doesn't. We use Dell workstations for high res imagery with multiple band combos and GIS, we use Unix for our server OS. We have 1 Mac in the building and it has one very special job... burning CDs. We tried everything on the Mac, but the Dell out performed the Mac at a fraction of the price.

    Suck Different...

  • I can be trendy but spend not one cent with linux.

  • lol i got the mac symbol as a haircut (because it looks cool), apparently there is a cult to this lol. I am a mac user and they are cool but i am not DIE hard to them....btw alot of ppl laugh at me...i may keep it

  • This is truly retarded. I don't buy Apple products for the cult, I just like them products, is that so hard to understand?

  • yes, yes it is

  • You also don't like to speak English it seems.

  • It seems you are wrong.

  • lmfao Apparently. Its pathetic how some people are so desperate to belong that they use a brand as a means of identifying themselves.

  • WTF? How does this makes any sense? You accused me of not liking English and now you are somehow connecting this to me being a brand slut. What a fail on your side. And I don't use a brand to identify myself, it's just something I use.

  • never connected you to a brand slut.

I was discussing what i find hilarious.

    Stop being so sensitive.

  • No. We all know that you use Mac so that you can belong to a community of the brand and find meaning for yourself by identifying with others who use the same products as you.

  • Yes and no.

I can understand it because I'm am engineer by training, a designer by inclination and self training and an art lover. There is no way in hell I'd ever buy anything ugly.

But expecting people who don't have an appreciation of good design and aesthetics to understand that you're not just a fanboi or a brand slut is near impossible. They lack the experience, the appreciation and the vocabulary.

Apple's success is due to their entire business model anyway.

  • I BOUGHT A MAC BECAUSE I WANT TO BELOOONGGG!!! /wrist

    LOL~!

  • I own a Mac and a PC.

    They're the same fucking thing.

It's just different means to the same end.

The closest thing you can come to a club in regards to Mac is their Applecare support...which fucking sucks.

  • AHHHAHA A CLUB OR FAMILY?! Its a FUCKING computer get over yourself.

  • observe your psychology. don't mock it, these things are human nature, they evolved so, denying it will affect you negatively in some way or another.

  • @questionful

wtf you talkin gabout? I accept my human nature, how is making fun of idiots who think Macs are a familly denying my human nature?

  • well, what this video is talking about is an evolved and thus undeniable tendency to subconsciously desire that sense of familiarity or whatever you want to call it

  • @questionful

no, not with a brand, that is weird. most people arent a member of a damn club for a brand of computer/etc

  • Linux users are the most Simple people I have met in my whole entire life. If they had rule Stability and having a good version tracker also and don't forget the Bug Reporter would come before innovation. They have no fucking right to say what it is like being a Mac User!

  • Wow! These people are insane.

  • LOL @ Linux users cult.

  • Linux is a brand?

  • Can you provide justification for the existence of your god?

  • Can you provide evidence for therer not being an existence of God?

  • I'm not the one who is claiming something exists so you are so you must provide the evidence not me.

  • Lastly, obviously coming from a fundamentalist christian home you were taught it was taboo to watch videos such as i have favorite'd. These are parodies, if you HAD watched them, but obviously not because you choose to remain ignorant. God does not say (Nor do any of Christianity's teachers) do not watch musical parodies or cartoons about things that make you laugh LAUGHING = BAD. This is taught by society, if you learned to differentiate the two, God and societal values then u win, but u lose

  • As for accepting society's morals instead of your god's: For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Speak to one another with...

  • Actually, I am actually ending this conversation now. First you want proof that God exists and now your spouting Bible passages. You, sir, are confused. I suggest not judging people over the internet (as the ignorant such as yourself do) and look at yourself. Also, learn how to debate because right now, you have not made ONE point clear.

  • Have a good day!

  • psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

    Ephesians 5:8-11,15-16,19-21, NIV

  • It's funny because i saw your favorites and they have a song about jizzing in your pants and something related to 2 girls and one cup... i don't think your god would appreciate you watching things like that. It's funny because you try to act all pious when your religious beliefs are called into question but you are probably as secular as anybody else. I probably know more about Christianity than you do coming from a fundamentalist christian home. Your hypocrisy makes me laugh.

  • Well see, the youtube comments are not a hotbed of ideas. I come onto youtube to watch funny videos and laugh whereas you come to flame. But onwards, time to discredit you.

    1) Just because you were raised in a certain type of environment DOES NOT mean you know more on the subject. You have to study, which I see you clearly do not do.

    2) When attempting to discredit a claim by someone, the RESPONDENT must be the one to provide evidence in order to discredit eariler said claim.

  • 1)To say i dont study something is bull because i have studied this i wouldnt try to say anything if i didnt

2)I never attempted to discredit the person i merely asked a question. If i had said youre god doesnt exist then that would apply

3)The videos you have which i have seen all refer to fornication and sodomy. 1 Thessalonians 5:2"Abstain from all appearance of evil" you say that its not bad but would you watch those videos if jesus was sitting next to you?Would he watch those videos?

  • Your logic makes me laugh, as does your grammar skills. Its apparent you have studied nothing at all, just another newfag that googled a bible passage. Anways addressing your points, the bible is a collection of societal values that were believed to be "God's Will" even though it was others trying to push their own agendas. And yes, i would watch these videos with Jesus, because they are PARODIES, go google that please. It also says in the bible do not lay with a women on her cycle.

  • "I think what it is about Mac users is that they... 'GET IT' " Oh God. I lol'd.

  • With Apples use of its logo and way everything is becoming i-[write product here] it diffently seems like a cult to me.

  • microsoft is a cult windows is a cult microsoft lies

  • Watch the video where Bill Gates and Steve Jobs does a conjoined interview. You will notice Steve focuses on how much it was to reach this this point for PC's when Bill seems to notion it little and focus on the future. All I can say is that, Bill at least has a vision. Progression, no conformation. Furthermore, it takes a religion to do such outlandish things as purchase a $2700 web browser (or a less user orientated video editor), or just to make a statement about your pocket. Open vs. Closed.

  • Bill Gates speaks about future. Steve Jobs DOES the future.

  • Yes, I believe your correct. Steve looks to the his wealthy future and overprices hardware and software for all of his zombie followings.

On the flip side, MS never built a 2700 dollar machine that can be built for $1600, or priced thier O/S at aprx. $1000 (where does this 1100 dollar thresh-hold go? Not to tech support).

MS is 'Big business', but if you buy into the "i revelation", your buying into an even bigger business with higher limitations. It's a no-brainer - just use yours.

  • Apple could do anything if they priced their junk accordingly - if they did, less people would give a shit. But in my eyes, whipping out thousands of extra dollars just to get PC hardware with a big apple logo raping it seems a bit anti-consumerist. Kind of like shooting yourself in your own foot for the companies sake; teaching these conglomerates that the consumer is a numb glossy eyed follower with no concern for their own integrity.

  • MS doesn't build computers, so really "MS never built a $2700 machine". Mac OS X costs $129.

Let me explain: About 5 years ago, Bill Gates spoke about intelligent magnets on fridge we should use in 2010. Nobody wants. MS develops robots to work in your house. When will they be available and will anyone want them?

Steve Jobs and Apple brought computer to people in '77, GUI in '84, iPhone a year ago. A million iPhones were sold in 2.5 months because Apple does what people really want.

  • Guy, look at the hardware and price it for a PC. If you still don't believe your getting ripped off buying a Mac, your self-diluted.

Obviously MS does not build machines, they are good a software, thats where they need to stay.

Apple took it's GUI from another company, Zerox I think. Around and around the shit swirls - but honestly, thats water under the bridge. What matters is what the company is doing to it's customers in the present.

And the iPhone? Cheaper, better versions available.ripoff

  • Why is it then that the "better thing" also comes with better constriction? It makes no sense to drive a BMW that goes 0-60 in 5 seconds and costs 100,000 dollars compared to a Mustang that does the same thing and costs 30,000 (also considering the parts for the Stang are sufficiently less, more dynamic (better choices), and highly customizable).

I used Macs all the way through elementary to college. I don't see part of them thats worth paying the prices compared to what it can do. Unless...

  • I hoped it's clear with cars... Why do managers buy BMW, Audi, Lexus, Mercedes? What do you think?

  • To show the size of their wallets? i.e. make a big statement?

  • You write like an envious socialist... What about comfort, safety, reliability?

  • Comfort, sure. I could see where the O/S would fit into the misinformed, or illiterate. Feeling comfortable for being able to choose less fits into the frail.

Saftey. A complete fallacy. Worms and viruses can be written just as easy for the Apple O/S, yet it's not the dominant operating system. Wouldn't it be funner to fuck up lots of computers instead of a lesser number?

Reliability. They don't have any problems?

I'd rather be anything than how I envision you - gullible and easily lead.

  • Comfort means you unbox the computer and you can work with internet, photos, videos. Choosing consumes time, less options mean sometimes less difficulties.

Viruses might be written as easy as for Windows but to run them, you would need administrator password. UNIX is safer than Windows. (I heard that Vista should have locked core to prevent viruses but an antivirus company protested and MS has opened it. Is user really on the first place?!)

They have less problems than I used to have with Win.

  • PCs come with Windows Movie Maker, Windows Media player, Fax and picture view, and IE... just like a Mac. Also in terms of anti-virus safety, all I can say is, with 90% of the market belonging to PCs and Windows, and possibly 95% of internet users being PCs, it's not worth the effort to create a virus that would hit so few people. In North America, Macs have a presence, in regions like the Middle East, Macs are nearly non-existant and few people have any idea what a Mac is.

  • Yes, but... Movie Maker only works with WMVs, Media Player cannot play DVDs without plugins. You even cannot open MS Office documents in MS system out of the box. In my opinion, it is funny that you have to install a 3rd party app (antivirus) to access Internet safely. Trust me, I have worked with both systems and know the differences.

  • Ain't nothing wrong with having to run a 3rd party app. Macs don't come with everything, either. Apple does not own Adobe. Though I need to say that Windows DOES have it's own firewall. Despite the mockery of Vista with the 'cancel or allow' skit, that feature isn't new.

  • I didn't find the request for antivirus odd until I switched to Mac, that's true. Macs don't come with everything preinstalled, that's true too. However, I've already writen that Mac has more useful things in it.

After I run a clean (new or reinstalled) system, I feel I can do nothing there until I personalize it a bit. This feeling appears in all Windows, Linux, Mac, whatever. But it was shortest with the Mac.

  • My system felt like mine within five minutes of me installing Windows onto the hard drive.

But that is because I don't buy Dell or anything. Full custom PC so that once I have it running, I know its mine and it works like I want it to.

  • You probably didn't understand me... After installing system, you have to install office, media codecs, software you use (photo and video editing tools in my case). Yes, this is today less important than before since you need only web browser for many activities.

  • I have never had to use a third party software to protect my PC. Its called being smart about what you are doing.

  • OK, tell me how should I explain my youngest brother to be smart. And try to install some antivirus trial, what will it find?

  • Let me try to understand this. I install an antivirus what it will find is most likely a few tracking cookies that legit sites use.

Viruses it will find none as long as you don't do anything stupid with your computer (aka filesharing software will get you viruses faster then anything else but as well as opening attachments). Windows has its own malicious software removal tool updated monthly and it does a damn good job.

My computer boots fast, runs fast and surfs fast.

  • Alright let me say this. I have a PC

full custom rig from the ground up. Cost me 1000 dollars. a comparable Mac would cost 2000 dollars. Now tell me this, would a Mac work as nicely as a PC like mine. One that is custom built? No. The issues people have with computers is largely user created, not manufacturer. Crashes? Mine hasn't because I know what I am doing.

  • Thats great youre satisfied with it. I personally havent been as satisfied as now until I switched to Mac. But everyone has his/her own choice and youre lucky that you find your way.

  • Have you ever had a computer built for your personal use? On you picked and choose from?

All I am saying is that if you like to pay a lot for a Mac despite the fact that for less you can make a hackintosh for a fraction of the price that looks how you want it to look.

  • I havent built any computer. You can do something yourself or pay someone for doing it for you. I choose the second way in building computers.

Hackintosh is ilegal and I have no problem to pay Apple for their good work.

  • Actually no, a Hackintosh is not illegal since what you do is buy the OS you choose to use.

Therefore you are paying Apple for their product.

You are just using it on another system.

Just like running Windows on a Mac.

  • But you dont buy the operating system, you buy a license to use it. And the license of Mac OS X says you can only run it on Apple labeled computer. So running it on another computer is illegal.

  • Show me the terms of use stating only that?

And if that is the case then why are hackintosh's not being shut down by apple?

  • I'm right with ya, Farmer. My PC is built from the ground up, as have the previous two PCs I've had, and I've had no complaints against any of them.

  • @FarmerGriff you're right, but you are one in a million if not more, then comes the people with very little knowledge that needs a good and stable PC to fit their needs -- this is where Mac comes into play, don't get me wrong, I love my PC as well!!

  • @duminicad

Macs aren't any better really, you can screw them over just as easily, sure there may not be spy ware as abundant, but it is easy to screw up anything. You need to be careful with any machine. My friend's mac crashes more then my "new" Compaq, the only reason my compaq crashes is because I don't clear out the memory as often I should, slows down to a halt.

And the price point still stand even with intel chipsets being used by both.

  • No.. they REALLY don't get it....

  • That's branding for you. Pretty darn scary, actually. I'm just happy I'm not "Getting it"...

  • Interesting video, do you happen to have the rest? Or perhaps a link to it? Thanks!

  • I love Macs products (not all of them ), and to be honest Steve Jobs couldn't give a crap about me or any other mac user. He's a business man plain and simple the same goes for Bill Gates.

And anyone who tries to elevate these men above their day to day vocations need their freakin heads read.

  • a man with a plan to steal even more from the company. At todays stock prices he has stolen almost 1.3 billion dollars

  • Amazing just how manipulative the whole marketing process is. It also amazes me to see people so hooked on a brand that they almost see it as infallible! Incredible stuff. Thanks for posting Previewh.

  • hahaha

    Linux & Mac = cultists.

  • You don't buy a hammer to remove a brake assembly. Not if you want it to work properly when you are done. You also don't run around arguing if PC's or Macs are "better" unless you are a glorified dweeb. The whole discussion is retarded. Computers are tools - a means to an end. You use the correct tool to accomplish a given job.

  • Windows and Linux PWN any freakin MAC

  • WGBH-PBS Boston Baby!

  • Why did you cut the video short?

I was interested in hearing the rest of the sentence >:/

  • Macs are just a Myth... I did have one and went back to real fast PC world.

  • Mac and Linux fucktards: Nice to see what your little club is really all about

  • Irony

  • Why is the Linux jerk using a fucking Mac? What a turd.

  • its prob more stable than a dell or hp..

  • thats disgusting, brands are cults!!! i'm no hippie, but we need to destroy the corporate MACHINE!!! ps iphone sucks

  • everything is cult, but there's good cult and bad cult which one do you all belong too?

  • A cult is when people start following without question, without criticism. They just believe blindly regardless of results.

This label is appropriate for Mactards exactly! and exactly shows why mactards love the iphone when there are products that do the same AND MORE then the iphone!

  • The Culting of Brands is a great book!

  • A Mac is a good computer. What is the problem? How does that make me a member of a cult (I own a Dell laptop, Dell Desktop, and a Mac desktop for video).

  • Cult members rarely question what informations is given. They to associate and "belong" by trying to be like "the group". Mac users follow alot of propaganda without question. PC users aren't quite as friendly and question everything and demand everything.

However critical, PC users remain PC users because they run into problems with MACs lack of application compatibility, especially on the network side of things.

  • interesting, mac try and do that by letting u share ur pics and that with the mac world am i right?? Do they do Blogging for each mac user? thats a thought!

  • Na .. theyre not really in that space .. what they do , do very well however is make you believe you want to be part of them .. irrespective of the product. Similar to Nike. ... Nike Man .. theyre the shit .. You want Nike .. irrespective of whether their Sneekers are any good

  • SO FUCKING TRUE!

Apple's whole gig is to try and make you seem like you took part in the creation of their products.

So usually when a product comes out, rather then looking for the utility or use, they just cheer if it looks good.

If you criticize or attack the apple product, you are automatically attacking the apple users as well. Thus they become maczombies or "mactards".

  • Mactards .. love it :)!!

Its true though. You end up having people as your advocates in a major way.... Does anyone actually think an Ipod is all that. Its just a bit of software along with a hard drive. They all they it ..except APple sells you something more :)
