That kid is a douche, keeps being so rude to Zappa, just because he "didn't get" 200 motels. The opportunity to speak to Zappa should be enough to make him fucking happy!
Of course, I won't say that ALL people view him that way. I believe FZ is under-rated as a guitar-player and a musician because of the kind of music he played. Many folks, both musicians and non-musicians, don't take his music seriously and think of him as a sort of jester or a clown of the music world. When you really listen to FZ, you hear the masterful beauty in it. Even the most traditionalist musicians will admit that "One Size Fits All" is well-composed and a beautifully played record.
Media was and is a powerful fucking tool and Frank knew that. He never smeared shit on his face or, intentionally, threw up at a show but if someone thought that he did and bought his album because of it capitalism would be safe once more and the buyer might even like it.
I always figured that people shut Zappa's music down because it didn't fit into the pocket that they'd come to understand as "music", but I could be wrong.
This interview highlights how misunderstood Frank was. The way he replied to the kid who said he got high and watched "200 Motels" but didn't get it; that shows us how it's so wrong to lump FZ into the same category as all the stoner jam-band music. Unlike much of the musicians in the drug-influenced jam-bands & "progressive" genres, FZ took all aspects of his music very seriously. He wasn't just some whacked-out, acid-dropping burnout. He was a truly great musician and a respectable person.
@DimensionsofChange Alexandre Dumas pere wrote over 400 historical novels exposing world tyranny(Roman Catholic Empire). He was born near Paris in 1802 and 'coincidentally' in 1902 the Society of Gesu(Jesuits) were expelled from France for the 3rd and last time. The Society of Jesu(Jesuits) have been expelled from 83 countries, city states and cities and their pope is ARAMIS AND HE IS ALSO KNOWN AS THE COUNT OF MONTE CHRISTO(GENERAL OF THE JESUITS).
@DimensionsofChange "Above all I have learned from the Jesuits. And so did Lenin too, as far as I recall. The world has never known anything quite so splendid as the hierarchical structure of the [Roman] Catholic Church. There were quite a few things I simply appropriated from the Jesuits for the use of the [Nazi] Party.
@DimensionsofChange Michael Tsarion is the worlds premier conspiracy researcher/lecturer/author. Leo Zagami, Jordan Maxwell and Alexandre Dumas pere are highly informative as well. p.s. Melting Euphoria is similar to Ozric Tentacles and Gong.
@DimensionsofChange "In the agreement to rescue Rome [i.e., the Roman Catholic Church's hierarchy] from the predicament of losing its world control to Protestantism, and to preserve the spiritual and temporal supremacy which the popes [had] 'usurped' during the Middle Ages, Rome now 'sold' the [Roman Catholic] Church to the Society of Jesus [i.e., the Jesuits]; in essence the popes surrendered themselves into their hands."
Zappa taped Clapton saying, "God, God, oh God."
That was it.
If you want to play it multiple times, it is on "We're Only in it for The Money".
First track, Side 2.
