  • Zappa taped Clapton saying, "God, God, oh God."

    That was it.

If you want to play it multiple times, it is on "We're Only in it for The Money".

    First track, Side 2.

  • That kid is a douche, keeps being so rude to Zappa, just because he "didn't get" 200 motels. The opportunity to speak to Zappa should be enough to make him fucking happy!

  • the guy at 7:00 sounds like a real genius

  • @Fluffhea8d sounds like a decent guy to me

  • Of course, I won't say that ALL people view him that way. I believe FZ is under-rated as a guitar-player and a musician because of the kind of music he played. Many folks, both musicians and non-musicians, don't take his music seriously and think of him as a sort of jester or a clown of the music world. When you really listen to FZ, you hear the masterful beauty in it. Even the most traditionalist musicians will admit that "One Size Fits All" is well-composed and a beautifully played record.

  • @bveracka

Media was and is a powerful fucking tool and Frank knew that. He never smeared shit on his face or, intentionally, threw up at a show but if someone thought that he did and bought his album because of it capitalism would be safe once more and the buyer might even like it.

I always figured that people shut Zappa's music down because it didn't fit into the pocket that they'd come to understand as "music", but I could be wrong.

  • This interview highlights how misunderstood Frank was. The way he replied to the kid who said he got high and watched "200 Motels" but didn't get it; that shows us how it's so wrong to lump FZ into the same category as all the stoner jam-band music. Unlike much of the musicians in the drug-influenced jam-bands & "progressive" genres, FZ took all aspects of his music very seriously. He wasn't just some whacked-out, acid-dropping burnout. He was a truly great musician and a respectable person.

  • lol

  • Only Zappa would hire Eric CLapton multiple times just to talk
