If your a casual player who likes rpgs and can only afford one MMO and see 2-3 stand out, all pretty much the same thing, swords and magic.

Do you pick the smallest game, to play online with people?

Or do you say screw it, this one has most people, they are all generally the same, Ill go with WoW.

Wow players arent fans, they are just rpg players who want to actually see people online.

When TOR comes out you will see a mad rush to the servers, and 7 mill of 11 mill subs from wow will be gone

Sounds good... but I've been disappointed many times before by developers speaking big of their game. Of course I expect them to talk big of their own game, but sometimes they just go too far and promise too much.

Age of Conan, Warhammer Online, etc.

It dosen't matter if SOE is here or not. All they did was graphics, really. So, if you hated SWG's graphics and engine, this will be good for you. SOE i not the problem. LucasArts are the brains, or lack there of, in the operation. If SOE gets an idea, they ship it off to Lucasarts to get approved. If LucasArts thinks they should add or take something out, SOE has to. LucasArts can make some good shooters/adventures, but im afraid this will be like another SWG.... new NGE/CUs will follow launch.

let us hope not, SWG was great before the NGE/CU the player driven economy was awesome the way crafting and all and markets and resource gathering worked, after the NGE so many people especially master crafters quit the game, so they made it where mobs dropped almost everything and thus there was no point to crafting anymore really the economy went to a pathetic exscuse of a market. And it went from there i think.

I hated the resource gathering in SWG. I think the downfall of SWG was that it was too advanced with not really much stuff do to except grinding. That was at least in vanilla version I played.

Im praying the balance the professions. I also hope that this isnt just another jedi love fest(swg turned into that). I mean in swg the jedi players cryed and the devs would suck them off and change wat ever they wanted unbalancing and nerfing everything else in the process.

I personally don't think this game will be anywhere near as good as KOTOR, although I still think it will be a really good game. KOTOR had the best plot, writing, and characters out of all the games I had ever played. I didn't really care about the controls, graphics, or settings from the game, I just loved the plot and characters. But I think that KOTOR can once again be resurrected.

star wars galaxies is infact the BEST MMORPG so far. Trust me, i have played countless mmo's, including : WoW, AoC, WAR...etc.

I cancelled my SWG subscription only because i played it for THREE years, and i wanted to stop playing it EVERY SINGLE DAY because it was SO ADDICTIVE.

SWG was the best game I have ever played with no contest, untily Sony Online Entertainment tried to make it a WoW copy and the game became empty and everyone left, because what made it great was ruined. Now it is not worth playing.

swg was 1 of the greatest game i played. But SOE came up with so many bad patches that they screwed up the game totaly. They had the patch on the "Test Realm" where we players could try out the upcomming patch. And if i remember correct it was more or less then 90% that voted "No, please do NOT release this patch". So it keept going on patch after patch. However like i said, the game at the time.. was 1 of the best i ever played :).

dont judge a game if you havent even played it. When i imagine the best MMORPG out there, i think of a tweaked version of SWG. The customorization is great, the replayability is excellent, the crafting, instances, space combat, Raiding, base busting, PvP, armor...i could go on and on. sry, i had to post twice and delete much of my well-writen paragraph about its awesomeness because of the 500 character limit :/

Galaxies had a lot of fun things about it but ultimately it flopped.You need to be ahead of WoW before you even start development. I'm not a WoW fanatic or anything and I'd like to see ToR succeed just as much as any fan. I just hope it's done correctly. Look at AoC. Great for a day or so

its not the game im worried about. Its the concept as an MMOG they will probably do a World of Warcraft. A game set 300 years in fron of KOTOR 2 which is ok (only just)but you will have subscribe and and pay every month so they hook u in like wow and they have no money worries thats what i hate about it.

And none of our organic freinds from the first 2 games will be there which sucks.

to tell you the truth i'm not an mmo player but this will be the first mmo i will play, i was just basing my comment on what i read. I know some free mmo's are out there like runescape but thats really shallow and like they said in the video there will be a TON of content in TOR. And unless this game is MAD expensive that justifies the amount of content and the lack of a subscription fee, then there will be one imo. Is Guild Wars fury anything like the big mmo's?
