One little comment about Ran reminded of someone of Renamon from Digimon, and the flaming war starts. Well, Ran is based off of the Kyuubi youkai of legend, and Japan is deep-rooted in Fox spirit lore. A bunch of anime, manga, games, and literature have either references or characters of them, it's nothing to ashamed of that there are similarities.

Because it turns out the secret weapon I needed to beat Ran was... VPatch.

Anytime someone loses to Ran, they have to comb her tails for her (after the obligatory tea of course). And considering of course just how that makes Ran -feel- when someone's running their hands (and comb) through her tails, she's got very good motivation to get better and win constantly.
