    Get all the fat and meat off prior to salting. After the salting process, rinse, and go over the hide again before tanning it. You'll be able to see what you missed. Thanks. - Rick

  • will it hurt the hide if you leave the salt on too long? 3-5days?

  • @flyndublin No, it won't. You'll have to rinse that salt off and get the hide back to a damp state so it will accept the tanning solution. Thanks for the question. - Rick
