It is true that iPods have better firmware, software, and build quality, but their sound quality is not nearly as good as the Zen X-fi. As an audiophile it was an easy choice. I've had my X-fi for almost two years and it's so much better than my old iPod, despite it's flaws.

Get the Nano. creative mp3s are cheap quality I own a Creative MX 8gb It has soo many flaws and the lcd Screen Breaks when you charge it on your computer. It locks and goes to a white screen out of nowhere. Creative customer support sucks they don't even have a number to call. Major Fail Creative Major Fail

get an x-fi, stratman is retarded he shouldn't have bought a zen mx. I heard that was the worst product from creative how ever that is an entirely different mp3 player. for 130 dollars for 16gb and 100 for 8gb you get a great device. It has somewhat cheap feel to it, but it look premium, but isn't but the headphones it comes with are premium they work great. Only problem with them is they are good for lows and not highs, so they aren't as good as ones you get in a zune 80gb. I say x-fi or x-fi 2

the zen-fi (this one showed in video) supports all these video files...MJPEG, WMV9, MPEG4-SP3, DivX3 4/5 and XviD3. they all work on it and do not require any sort of extra software to use.

think before you buy! its a bitch to get videos on! They have to be in the exact resolution of the screen and have to have the exact audio codec. Also, the online is very tempromental. Although i have to say it has the best sound quality ive heard from an mp3 player.

I bought the 32 GB Version, and my wife has the 16 GB Version and they are both identical, as far as functionality goes. It's a pretty decent small, light weight player with good battery life (mainly audio). I bought it to replace my old harddrive based MP3 player. It's much lighter and much nicer than my old player. The X-Fi functionality has been fixed, by the way. Now, it actually makes it sound better! I would recommend it to anyone.

WHy not?

It's fairly simple.

1. Plug your X-Fi in

2. Go to the internal memory

3. Go to the file Videos

4. Drag and drop.

If they're WMV it will work.

Windows Media Player converts most types into WMV, so you're in luck.

it still doesnt beat the ipod touch. which is capable of purchasing music, videos, and movies directly to the ipod touch. not to mention all of the great applications that are available. oh and the full html capable internet surfing is also a plus. when the zen can do all of that, then I'd say that it beats apple products. the zen is the best bang for your buck though.

That's the 8GB version that's £79 mate. For this one in the video (16GB) it's £110-120 on Amazon UK. I found the 8GB on Ebay brand new for £65 which is the cheapest I've seen yet.

Well Creative make the best cards sound "Sound Blaster" so you can be sure that the sound is awesome. The screen is just great because it recognizes 16.7 millions of colors the ipod just 252 000 colors. Now you can buy it sure. Cheers

Yea, it definitely is. I have the X-Fi and a guy i know from school has the D2, and the X-Fi's sounds was superior to the D2 (using my earbuds for both players, so that can't be it).

I'm not saying the D2 is bad though: It's got a flash player (so you can play flash movies).

However skipping to a next song takes way longer with the D2 because you gotta active the screen first and then the menu.

That together with the sound quality and the WiFi make the X-fi better if you ask me.

As far as i know, you can browse music trough the tags, like artist/title/genre/album etc.

Also, (not sure about this though) you need to put the music on it using the 'creative centrale' software, so you won't keep your own folder structure.

The plastic on the back eliminates the ton of fingerprints and scratches that will no doubt show up on the player otherwise. I have a Zune and I prefer its matte finish over the shiny chrome of the iPod because of that reason.

Also, lol @ comparing a Creative product's audio quality to an iPod classic. Do your research and you will see Apple cut corners on the audio circuitry to bring down the price of the player.

Overall, great review. Thanks for pointing out the flaws in a good manner!
