60 km (35 miles) SSE of Mobile, Alabama

65 km (40 miles) WSW of Pensacola, Florida

@dutchsinse Yellowstone earthquakes are not usually reported on USGS because there are so many of them. 99% of them are tiny micro quakes. There are instances where the monitor removes reports generated by false readings especially in the winter. The equipement is on the surface and is prone to external influences in storms, they give out a false reading. The monitor removes them and everyone screams conspiricy and a coverup. It is not.

I'm in NWF people reported the quake, it was at Fort Morgan Ala. 3.5, it was felt very strong up to Birmingham Ala 200 miles away due north, in Pensacola only vibrations nothing great, the fault line goes from north Canadian boarder down past chili SA.

If it goes the Miss river will be 300-400 miles wide all the way up, FEMA, Homeland, pulled all resources from Mobile Ala. today to location unknown north.

There's been earthquakes in that region since they started large-scale oil & gas production. The entire Gulf coastal region from eastern TX to western FL is a sedimentary basin to the Miss. River. Compaction of sediments and extraction of fluids leads to sinking land (subsidence). New Orleans. Below sea level. Salt under load pressures flow like tooth paste—it's why they are shaped like domes. Deep limestone bedrock is full of very old caves and caverns. Nothing really to write home about here.

Weird how the North Carolina quake appeared yesterday on Intellicast and is still there, before the florida quake which is above the Florida quake, and yet it never appeared at all on USGS

North Carolina is on 2 fault lines and neither are the New Madrid, fyi...

3.5 earthquake reported off Ala. coast today

MOBILE, Alabama (WALA) - There was a small earthquake off the coast of Alabama Friday night.

The United States Geological Survey reports the 3.5 magnitude earthquake happened at 5:15 p.m. The epicenter was located in the Gulf of Mexico about 10 miles southwest of Gulf Shores.

FOX10 News has a crew on the way to Dauphin Island.

Dutch, I m in Florida, so I would really like to know what happened! That salt dome was already in very fragile condition. If that pup lets go, we could be looking at a title wave in Florida. The whole state is built on a huge sand dune. Liquifaction is the scariest thing about living this sand dune.Crap! I had a very real nightmare about that happening here! One minute, I was standing on the ground, and the next thing I knew, I was thirty feet under the ground, encased in sand. Yuck!
