Darling, a sensitive soul is just a tyrant who enslaves all those around him to make certain he is hurt, always I don't need a reason baby, put your arms around me. Hold me real close, CLAP ME IN IRONS, C'mon Caligulove me, C'mon Caligulove me. You can hear it (as an offering) If you're a good girl (as an offering). A righteous choir is singing, (as an offering..). No, screaming, as they burn.
Darling, there are no taboos in lust. My veins coarse blood that's so venomous. WHEN HEARTLESS HEARS A HEARTBEAT... he's jealous, so jealous I don't need a reason baby, put your arms around me. Hold me real close, clap me in irons, C'mon Caligulove me. I already got cha baby, put yourself upon me. I'm in lust, a slave to desire, when you Caligulove me. C'mon on, love me. Hold me real close.... love me. I need your Caligulove girl. Caligulove.
i love how this band doesn't just play in straight up 4/4 all the time. so many changes. they also play in different scales than just minor/major. great. only thing i get kind of tired of though is josh homme's voice and the guitar tone/drone sometimes.
Finally, I found hope in modern music. Music like this lasts unlike most of the crap that comes out today. The mainstream stuff everyone likes gets boring in a month. This is the kind of music that sticks with you. I honestly couldn't think of a better combination of talent. I hope I see the day where what's "popular" now is gone, and good music like this is made again. Until then, more for us right?
I don't get where people are coming from with the Doors thing - they are a lot more reminicent of Cream, which is far more the compliment to be honest.
it's funny i never really was a fan of old school rock like this but i would listen to anything with guitar but mainly like hardcore and death metal but i pretty much just fell in love with this band and every damn song on the album
@ArmorOfChrist777 it really does. especially the instrumentation, sounds like something off of strange days. good stuff. i've been getting into this band more, i'm just less into their 'big' songs like new fang which haven't done as much for me.
Love it, I have been waiting for some quality new QOTSA forever, their last few albums were a little weak, its great to hear josh and dave together again, and then you throw in JPJ & suddenly its QOTSA version 2.0, stronger, faster, better in every way. Josh sounds completely re-invigorated on this album.
I just enabled auto play and cranked the volume hope i blow these shitty speakers so i can buy better ones.Fuc what a great band theve got there shit rolled tight.
Listening to this group is kind of like a cool, grey background, and it's really cool at first, then just when it begins to grow redundant, the soul of John Paul Jones bleeds through at just the right times, man. That's what I get from this band. One problem, really, too much staccato. I like more of a loose, psychadelic blend, myself, but this is the best thing we've got nowadays, and it's fucking sweet, man.
Caligula was one of the most feared emperors of the Roman Empire's legacy. He killed for pleasure and punished civilians who were defiant by removing or destroying their genitalia in public with swords. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Knowing Josh Homme(the singer), it's probably just for kicks. Sometimes it's hard to decipher the meaning behind the title, this makes it more interesting though. Hope this helps.
This song sounds is like a little of everyone within it, a Michael Angelo of music I'd say.Them Crooked Vultures kind a way. So what the hell is wrong with that. This a lot better than most of the junk out there. I mean a lot.
Way to go guys. I would love to catch a live show somewhere. I'd bet it's magic...
this song is KICKING ASS. love the lyrics: Darling, there are no taboos in lust. My veins coarse blood that's so venomous. I don't need a reason baby, Put your arms around me. Hold me real close, Clap me in irons, C'mon Caligulove me. I already gotcha baby, Put yourself upon me. I'm in lust, A slave to desire, When you Caligulove me.
Definitly hear the Doors reference in the chorus, like a variation of "Crystal Ship", "Break On Through", "Not to touch the Earth" and "Soul Kitchen" with a QOTSA twist
Caligula supposedly led am army to attack Britain , and instead decided to have his army gather shells on the beach , in an attempt to provoke "Neptune , the sea god " into a battle . Caligula was freaking nuts .
Does anyone agree with me here that this has a very Doors feel to it, this is like the dopest song on the album.... Listen to that riff kick in at 45 sec in... fuckn the shit, classic Homme riff... The organs, man these dudes did a number on ROCK, they took Rock as we know it today, to the backyard, the tool shed and fucked the shit out of it, made it a dirty whore, scarred for life, sex rehab the whole nine, good shit!
@FuzzehPeach Darling, A sensitive soul is just, A tyrant who enslaves, All those around him, To make certain he Is hurt, always I don't need a reason baby, Put your arms around me. Hold me real close, CLAP ME IN IRONS, C'mon Caligulove me, C'mon Caligulove me.
