this game was a dissapointment...Square should have released (japan) final fantasy 5 in north america instead....there was no adventure in mystic quest, you had to follow a set path on the map... LAME....especially after playing through the US version of the epic final fantasy 2.

hmm this game just came out for the virtual console in NA and I think I'll stick with Ys Books 1 & 2 -- also this was less a review and more of a quick play through of the game (making fun of some parts to make funny commentary)

this was the first final fantasy I've ever played, and I loved every bit of it, over the years I've gone back and played all the great RPG's I've missed out on (if you are reading this and you haven't played CHRONO TRIGGER yet, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU WAITING FOR?), yet Mystic Quest is still one of my personal favorites. Maybe it's nostalgia, but I still replay it every now and then.

Well, this is an older review I did, so yeah, I did ramble and the overall quality of my videos have improved since then.

I do recommend this game if you want a laid back RPG, but the battles can get repetitive, so be prepared for that.

i liked the game, but i still think it had many flaws, so im planning on remaking it on ro\pg maker (and its gonna be harder) becouse thats one of the flaws, but im not sure that i will.

It kind of amaze me that Squaresoft create a slime monster in this game and this game was made before they merge with Enix. It kind of reminds me of a DQ and FF in one RPG. FF Mystic Quest rocks!

Pros:

+-Excellent music.

+-Easy to understand battle mechanics.

+-Decent enemy design.

Cons:

--Way too easy.

--It can be finished in one day.

--Low replay value.

I lost my cartridge some time ago. I'm not sure how exactly. The game's pretty good, but Final Fantasy it is not.

It's very simplified, supposedly so kids can play it.
