One major difference btwn Friends and HIMYM is HIMYM is bit more mature in terms of people.. educated with good jobs and talk more real stuff.. they point out so many stuff which is really happening in our mid twenties life.. Frnds was more of fun and i feel HIMYM is more of knowledge of me.. how they easily explain lot of aspects of life in HIMYM is awesome.. Cant compare.. it wont be fair.. i feel HIMYM is next level of friends.. The way they end every episode with a lesson is sopper awesome

But they do have things in common, (like chocolate and computers) ;) but just for that, doesn't mean they are the same show :D

Well I watched all seasons of friends and HIMYM and the similarities are uncanny.Well I always say HIMYM is 'Friends without Phoebe'.Here are few things that I have noticed so far
1 Both Groups go to a same place(Central Park Coffee shop -MAclaren's bar) and sits at the same table (couch in case of friends) in Manhattan ,New York
2. Married couple who knows each each other from college (Marshall & lily - Chandler & Monica )
In my opinion Friends is better because it's more original, HIMYM copied a lot of it. The last season wasn't even that funny with the awful plotline with Zoey and the hotel. In Friends the people are actually growing with the show, Phoebe being less weird and Rachel less spoiled etc. In season 10 of HIMYM Barney will still be like: "LEGENDARY" and Ted's still the hopeless romantic. Also, Friends had an average of 20 mill viewers in the last season, HIMYM is happy with 8 mil. Like the show tough.

@z24baller I sure had fun watching friends, but I think the humor in himym is way more sophisticated and the social relations is more realistic. i.e. in friends ross was weird, joey stupid and chandler an ass making fun about everyone those people would not be friends in a real situation. himym gets it way better.. also great chemistry with the actors.

The one thing that I just can't fathom, though, is how Charlie or Barney get a pass because they're "that type of person" or "their intentions are clear" or whatever the case may be. Sex should be enjoyable, it should be satisfying to both people, and it should be able to stay fresh and exciting. That may mean the frequency, the positions, the foreplay, the mood(s), whatever... (or even what you said, I suppose). Intimacy is part of every relationship. Shouldn't marriage and sex both be at the pinnacle of intimacy?
