  • I was told about this product but don't understand it. Is this in place a relaxer or do u also have a relaxer? I also flat iron my hair, that is not reccommended?

  • would this be bad for transitioning hair? thanks xoxo

  • @77binnie No, it's a good way to transition. But, keep in mind that this amount of heat can damage your natural curl pattern. If you plan on wearing your natural texture, I wouldn't recommend it. If you plan on wearing your hair straight most of the time, it should be ok.

  • i got my hair done at jcpenny salon and they use the Chi hair straightener... thats what i got... i dont know how to message u in a private message thats why i sent response on here

  • thanks so much for ur quick response... i got the keratin treatment today and so far i love it

  • @CrystalRenee919 Nice! Which brand did you get?

  • do u have a relaxer in ur hair then applied the keratin over it to add keratin back into ur hair and to protect ur hair ?

  • @CrystalRenee919 Yes, that's right.

  • "my room smells like chocolate" (:

  • i did a keratine treatment like just now and we put the treatment and we washed it out a litllte and then we did the fat iron do you think it is going to be bad .......? please help

  • Very helpful thanks, is there a link to the ebay seller? :)

  • Hi i've never had one of these before & i was going to buy this off of ebay too. i have 1 question though, if i get this once is it like a perm where i have to constantly have it treated. Or can it be just a one time thing? Please answer this quickly thank you!

  • How was your hair after 2 weeks? do you still use that treatment? and how often do you use it? thank you :)

  • @SilkySmoothie The effects lasted me around 3-4 months. All the benefits I received are listed in the info box as well as a link to the FAQ. I haven't used it since I made this video because I'd gone natural shortly after.

  • wooooooooooooow u hav such white teeths...lol

  • @yamilaaveo Thank you :-)

  • @hair2toebeauty im jelaous!!!!..lol.. how can u hav them like that white!! its like u hav a light bulb in ur mouth....hehehehe

  • @yamilaaveo *BLING* LOL. I don' do anything out of the ordinary. But, I don't drink coffee, sodas, and I don't smoke. That's it! :-)

  • good job, you're skilled and curageous, thumbs way up for you. thanks!

  • @ElangaW Thanks, it wasn't that hard, just time consuming.

  • my flat on only goes up to 395 will it still work

  • @love020799 I've only used it on 450, I can't say if it'll work at a lower temperature.

  • Thanks :)

  • I have some gray hair can i color my hair befóre i use the Keratin treatment i bought the cochoco Keratin. But i'm a little scared to use it. What do you think?

  • @kallahari Hi! I'm sorry, I don't want to advise you wrong, but I don't have any experience with this treatment and hair color. I think you should consult with a professional to discuss what your options are. I just don't want to tell you anything!

  • @hair2toebeauty Fair enough, i will ask a professional then hihi i'm from the Netherlands but a type like you i wanna do my own hair. But you're right i have to ask first if i can do the treatment after colouring my hair. Thank you....love ur vids by the way

  • @kallahari Thanks for understanding! I actually got the treatment recommended by a stylist before I got it done. She recommended it, I researched it, then got it done professionally. When I thought I could do it myself, I then gave it a try. So you have the option of getting the go ahead from a stylist and doing it yourself. :-)

  • Amazing video, my mom just got one today... On her natural hair. It came out great. Now I am considering. My hair is about your lenght... I am impressed with the amount of hair that did NOT come out during the treatment.

I perm my hair, and I've lightened it a few shades. I sweat in my hair a lot when I work out. Do you know anything about how this typically works with color treated hair?

  • @Victoriallah Hi! I don't have any experience with BKT on double processed hair. But I "read" (don't take my word as gold) that it works well on porous hair that is chemically treated. I would find a stylist and ask them if you're a candidate. I believe ULTA salons have a formaldehyde free version they are using on clients. I'd go for a consultation.

  • Great video!!! My concern fro doing alot of research pertaining to BKT after you blow dry and flat iron the BKT into your hair to seal it in. The hair is than washed like in the first step, blown again and flat iron again. The treatment does not stay in your hair after the first steps?????

  • @trinialisha Hi! Actually, since I've made this video a year and a half ago, the directions have changed for QOD Max. So, you're right, now they say after ironing it in, you wash it out. I don't know if that's with a new formulation or not, so whatever brand you choose, make sure to follow their directions for the best results!

  • Can you tell me exactly what is the model of the flat iron, because there are so many models, that they all look the same practically.

  • @mommateeh Check the info box. :-) You don't have to use the same one I use, just one that goes up to 450 degrees if you choose to go that high.

  • So if you do not advise BKT treatment for fine hair, would you say aphogee is better??

  • @rip2dacompetition Not sure I said I didn't advise it for fine hair...I said that fine hair can feel heavy and stiff so if you don't like that you should consider that. The effect washes away after the "curing" period. There are plenty of fine hair women who have gotten great results, but they have all mentioned their fine hair was stick straight and heavy during the beginning days. I hope that clarifies.

  • what does the treatment do to your hair?

  • Get the straight facts along with lovely, smooth hair! Without the proper ventilation cosmetologists may be over exposed to excessive levels of formaldehyde or glutaraldehyde, so they should invest in an efficient ventilation system. A "Chemical Source Capture System" removes these potentially harmful vapors from the breathing zone of both the stylist and client. Search "Chemical Source Capture System", "Hair Smoothing Controversy" or "Preferred BKT Ventilation" for additional information.

  • can u air dry instead of blow dry your hair?

  • @snowmonkey558 No, the key to this treatment is heat and smoothing. That starts with the blow dry. This treatment is not for the heat shy.

  • wow ur hair looks great but I recommend a different flat iron that doesn't damage the hair like others, it's the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it it reaches 450f and has pure

tourmaline ceramic plates that work like a miracle on black hair, it works amazingly. nice video btw :)

  • Hi - your hair looks so healthy. My hair is relaxed. Is there an amount of time one can use BKT after a relaxer? Is there a time frame after touching up roots with a relaxer to for continual usage of BKT?

  • @albeeinla Thank you! Depending on the manufacturer, you may use this the same day as a relaxer. I have not done this, so I can't personally testify. But, I've heard the results are excellent. Check the manufacturer's instruction though.

  • wow 250 per session is cheap as chips. in new zealand its 800 the most:(

  • @loudasgrl25 Yowsa!

  • Tooo much heat

  • This works on natural hair too right? Like if my hair is relaxed and my roots are growing will it straighten the roots?

  • Hi

You should try Beaute Ultrasonic. Its a repair flat iron that does not use any heat at all

go to keratin4u website for more details. It also works wonders using the OrganiQ keratin treatment

  • Thank you!!! Sorry to keep bugging you but where else can I buy it at a decent price, the ebay page has been removed unfortunately:(

  • So you can't wrap it either...when I go to sleep......4 days of sleeping cute?!

  • @courud7346 You can wrap your hair - I did. Just tie it loosely to prevent creases. I used a paddle brush and granny bonnet - no pins. I unwrapped the next morning and kept it moving. I slept ugly as usual. :-)

  • So if you can't even tuck your hair behind your ears for 4 days, how are you supposed to style it and what do you do after those 4 days are up?

  • @courud7346 Wear it in any kind of way that does not cause bends or creases in the hair. After 4 days, wash and style it was normal.

  • WHAT IS THW POINT OF PUTTING THIS TREATMENT ON RELAED HAIR THATS ALREADY BEEN BROKEN DOEN CHEMICALLY ??????

  • @keeblerelves133 The BKT cannot be compared to a relaxer. They are two different threatments. The BKT is a complement to a relaxer because it fills in porous hair with protein. The benefits are none compared to a relaxer. They include less frizz, easier detangling, less breakage, and the need to use less product.

  • @hair2toebeauty oh okay

  • Respond to this video... oh okay

  • Your hair looks really shiny and healthy? What shampoo do you use?

  • @BreAna1393 Thank you! I use whatever shampoo I grab. I tend to go for moisturizing shampoos. Right now I'm using Herbal Essence None of Your Friziness.

  • Wow at 7:25 there's like 10 passes on the same piece of hair at highest heat! I'd be too scared to do that on my hair =/

  • @ipodchik Yes, those are the recommended directions. And yes, that's a lot of heat! But, I did not have any damage from it.

  • this type of treatment is sooooo much better then those cheap relaxers that most african american woman use, because it leaves their hair so stiff and dry and it just looks so bad and this BKT gave you such beautiful results!

  • @cynthiacastrucci Thank you!

  • they say that stuff causes cancer sometimes

  • @CheckersXheart That is what makes this treatment so controversial. However, my health is fine and I've had two treatments. I recommend everyone make their own decision on whether to do this treatment.

  • so nice result..LOVE IT thanks!

  • @CATASTROPHE70 Thanks!

  • ur pretty

  • omg where did u get that cool white comb thingy? i MUST know lol :D

  • @mfrias093 Sally beauty supply.

  • Comment removed

  • Beautiful results and it looks very healthy! No spilt ends just healthy hair! Love it! One question: Can you get the treatment on Amazon too?

  • where did you get that comb your using?

  • @jroseyo88 its a jilbere vented comb and you get it at sall'y for about $6 or $7

  • @princesspudtassja is that the one your using with the flat iron because that was the comb I wanted.

  • @jroseyo88 yes. srry for responding late

  • Be very careful, I have seen research in the news saying it contains cancer causing agents that are activated when heat is applied. This is why it was suggested to avoid using the product or both stylist and client wear masks. I know some hair salons that refuses to use it in New York.

    Good luck and be careful!

  • so is this not chemical free

  • @ladynick87 No, it isn't. There are chemicals in this treatment. It's just not permanent like a relaxer.

  • I have a question, is there a reason that you go over the same sections of hair 5 and 6 times? Is that necessary for your hair because I know that much heat can be very damaging.

  • @msnisha2009 The directions for this process call for 10 passes on each section of hair @ 450 degrees. I have had this treatment twice and never received any damage from it.

  • why do people wear a face mask when using the treatment?

  • @friendlyskies27 This treatment contains chemicals that are harmful when inhaled for extended periods of time. This is the biggest cause of controversy and risk of the product. It has been done in a well ventilated area and/or use masks especially for stylists with repeated exposure.

  • how long do this treatment last? i usually wash my relaxed hair once a week so can i still be able to do that? i want to transition to natural hair

  • @curlytop904 It is supposed to last between 3-5 months. This will depend on what types of products you use to maintain your hair. Yes, you may continue to wash weekly.

  • @hair2toebeauty On the subject of how long it lasts, will the hair remain straight even after washing? AND sweating? I have a fast paced job where i'm constantly moving, therefore I sweat and hate how my hair curls, will this treatment help maintain the straightness even when sweating?

  • @BrittaDallas Since I only had a BKT on relaxed hair, I can't answer that first hand. But, my cousin (who is naturally curly) has the BKT and her hair will curl when it's saturated with water. The curly is noticeably less curlier than normal and easier to comb through and maintain, but it will revert. For sweating, not so much. at worst, there is a slight wave.

  • that straightening comb is the bomb!! Im gonna be runnin g out to sally's tonight!

  • I can get my hair straighter than this with a flat iron and NO brazilian treatment and my hair isn't relaxed

  • What's the purpose of getting a relaxer, if you're going to do the Brazilian Keratin thingy that's all the rage. I thought the Brazilian thing was used the way relaxers are used, just different demographic. Why not just get extensions, instead of doing all the chemicals?....and now you're natural you say?

  • @Papillonmuscogee I was transitioning in this video and never planned on getting another relaxer. Either way, this treatment works just fine for chemically treated hair. No, BKT is not comparable to a relaxer. It is temporary and relaxers are permenant. Extensions are completely irrelevant for the purpose of this treatment. For relaxed hair, it can be used for a sleeker look. There is plenty of information out there explaining how it can be used.

  • Thats a sweet comb!!!

  • very beautiful, thanks for your tutorial was great:)

  • What kind of flat iron did you use? it did a great job with your hair, I wanna purchase one =)

  • What kind of flat iron did you use? Iit did a great job with your hair, I wanna purchase one =)

  • Hey, what is that thing called that you use to go over your hair directly after you flat iron? It looks like a comb but with something else attached. I like it and I think I could use one of those! Thanks so much!

  • one lady on youtube was sick for three weeks from using the bkt ive done my homework and i wouldnt recommend it

  • @SHUTDAFRONTDOR Why???

  • Great helpful video! thanks!!

  • nice video. i'll give it a try.

  • your hair is beautiful

  • @khaterina996 Thank you!

  • really ??? thats it??? only that much hair u lost ?????

  • @Pavitsimi Just from the detangling, yes. But, remember, I had a prior bkt treatment that had started to wear off. Easier detangling is part of the benefit that I got.

  • your hair looks amazing

  • @bronzebutterfly25 Thanks!

  • is this formaldehyde free?

  • @bronzebutterfly25 No, it does contain a form of formaledehyde. More info on qodusa(dot)com.

  • @hair2toebeauty hi girl. just want to ask if u did wash (shampoo and conditioner)ur hair after u put the keratin treatment & straightened it with the iron???thanks

  • @JoanieLee1 No, the treatment must "cure" for at least 4 days before you can wet your hair.

  • @hair2toebeauty ok, thank u. i just saw a video using qod keratin too and she wash it again after she was done of her treatment and ironed her hair...

  • Are you a stylist. Or even certified on Keratin????

  • @maurozay2011 No, I am a consumer who does not wish to pay a high price tag for this treatment.

  • from wjere did you learn how to apply the product , because im certified in Global Keratin and thats totaly different from how we do it . You really dont need that much product its just a waste .

  • @maurozay2011 I said in the video that I used too much product. Did you even watch it completely?

  • so with that product do u have to dry the hair before applying the keratin , because im a certified Global Keratin and you can appy on towel dried hair , and do u use a 450 iron

  • @maurozay2011 I followed the instructions given to me by a certified hair stylist and the manufacturer of this product. You may use whatever technique you wish.

  • I LOOOOVEEE the Croc Infrared flat iron... mine is the 1 1/2 inch and my hair growth was noticeable from July to November.. I was amazed! (I think it was because of the infrared, its supposed to estimulate hair growth!).

  • hey umm were did you get that comb

what store did you go to?

  • does the gloves and applcationbrush come with the product?

  • @AMIRA789456 No, they were purchased seperately at the beauty supply.

  • what is the name of that comb thing ur using as u flat iorn ur hair

  • @Gouncy89 Check the info box for all product info used in the video.

  • @Gouncy89 Straightening comb. Check the info box for all product info used in the video.

  • Thanks for sharing your video. It was a brief in sight to this product. However with the lawsuits and these products being banned I strongly advise people to rethink. I love the silkiness of your hair I really do. But the cost some are paying is way beyond the benefits. Not trying to be negative but your edges seemed thin is that bc of the chemicals you use or is that natural (bc I have noticed some women do have thinner edges naturally). Thanks Just curious.

  • @lolabunny18 Oh yea and your flat iron technique I think is awesome (so stealing it). I think on my natural hair it might add a different flow to it :-)

  • @lolabunny18 Steal away! Thanks for your input!

  • @lolabunny18 No negativity taken at all. My vid is just instruction to those who wish to do it. I've had no negative reactions internally or externally. I had positive results and I can only speak for myself. ~~~~ My edges aren't "thin", but they are "less dense" than the rest of my hair, if that makes sense. They've always been like that.

  • @hair2toebeauty Thanks for the information. I think although you are not a natural channel I can learn something from you. Good luck I loved your warning. I think people under estimate the strength of their hair. I will love to see a update on this to see if you have any major shedding or breakage... really curious!

  • @lolabunny18 This will be a natural channel. I was transitioning in this video and am now natural. I just posted a wash n go video. My blog shows lots more info about my natural journey. hair2toebeauty(dot)com

  • @hair2toebeauty Thanks just saw it. I am excited you are due to our closeness in curl pattern. You shall be my test subject.

  • @lolabunny18 LOL I'm happy to be your guinea pig!

  • Hi Everyone just wanted to share that there's a new formula just released. QOD OrganiQ is 100% natural with great results.

  • thanks a lot to reply me :) xxx

  • Hi!

My hair is like yours, could you tell me how your hair look s when you wash it? it still straight and soft? can you go out with your hair down without need the use of a iron or the hair dryer? I really want to do the KBT but I dont want to use irons or hair dryer every single day to use my hair down, please answer me... God bless you

  • @irina1veiga My hair was stick straight after I washed it. It was incredibly soft and much more manageable than normal. I also used less product to get great results. No, you don't need to flat iron everyday, nor is it ever recommended. Your styling will come out much smoother and silkier and lasts longer. It's one of the biggest benefits to the treatment.

  • @hair2toebeauty what kind flat iron is that?

  • and you did the process totally wrong .

  • @xskiinnyminnie I didn't. But if you have better directions, feel free to share.

  • whyyy are u flat ironing your hair so much timess

  • @xskiinnyminnie Because I am following the directions. I did not receive any damage.

  • sobehair

  • Hi. Thanks for the video, it was super informative. Can you please tell me where you got that comb you used during the flat ironing? It looks like it could make my routine, which is honestly no routine at all because of how awkward it is to run a regular comb through my hair after ironing it, easier...Please tell:

  • @RRae80 I'm sorry, I thought I'd replied to you! All of the product info is in the info box. I got it at Sally's.

  • Hi. Thanks for the video, it was super informative. Can you please tell me where you got that comb you used during the flat ironing? • approximately how long did it take to do the treatment post washing, and did you need to do any kind of ventilation of the room during or after for the fumes?

  • @ibeenuhbadgirl I don't remember exactly, maybe two or three hours. I mentioned in the video that I had my ceiling fan on and I was fine with that. The fumes weren't strong for me.

  • I like QOD Gold better.

  • @Blackbarbietea Why? I haven't used that one yet and would like your input.

  • wow im surprised ur hair isnt super damaged after you went over ur hair that many times with those flat irons really amazed at that but ur hair looks nice been wantin to try a keratin treatment but not sure which one thanx

  • @nellblue21 As I mentioned, each individual should know what their hair can and cannot take as far as heat temperature and frequency. I never suffered any damage.

  • Yes, without proper ventilation the stylist in particular is at risk of over exposure to excessive formaldehyde vapor inhalation. More so when several services are done per shift. Most salons have no idea of the type of filter they are using in their HVAC system. Regulations are outdated, meaningless and not enforced. You have to be progressive about your health. Learn more about proper salon ventilation including "Chemical Source Capture Ventilation".

  • Get the straight facts along with smooth hair! Aerovex Systems "Chemical Source Capture System" removes formaldehyde & glutaraldehyde vapors from the stylist and client's breathing zone. "The One That Works" Salon Air Purifier further cleanses these vapors from the workstation air. Special HVAC filters remove salon vapors, mists and dusts from the buildings' air. Search "Hair Smoothing Controversy" to learn more about 3 Zone Salon Ventilation.

  • @bonnieduerst so you are saying that without an air purifier, this treatment emits dangerous chemicals in the air? Do salons have to have HVAC filters to provide this service?

  • @TheMd16 I was transitioning and never relaxed after that. But, yes, you can relax and do this treatment.

  • whats the name of that litle tool u used when you flat iron your hair? is perfect to avoid buern my fingers

  • @princess4389 All products and tools used in the video is in the info box.

  • @princess4389 ahahah lol yeahhh ^^

  • Hey I have a Croc too. I agree it`s awesome!!!! Gets my hair super straight. And your hair is nice.

  • @gggrinz Thanks!

  • You're not supposed to want to "strip your hair and make it sqeeky clean" That's horrible for Black hair.

  • @gggrinz Clarifying every now and again is ok to remove buildup. I only use clarifying shampoo for this treatment now since the directions call for it.

  • @hair2toebeauty Well I suppose you're right when it comes to clarifying once in a while, but keep in mind that when you shampoo regularly, you're supposed to use moisturizing shampoos that don't make your hair feel stripped and sqeeky clean.

  • @gggrinz I'm sorry, I'm a bit confused. Did I give the impression I normally clarify my hair? If I did, that was not what I meant. I was only doing the regimen required for this treatment. This is/was not my normal hair regimen. Then I use a moisturizing shampoo followed by a conditioner.

  • @hair2toebeauty No, you didn't give the impression that you normally clarify your hair, however you did give the impression that you think that shampooing your hair until it's stripped is a positive thing. But it was my misunderstanding, sorry. As long as you know better :)

  • @hair2toebeauty Also, Can you post the ingredients of that BKT? I'm very curious and googling what the ingredients are has not given me anything. I've also heard that they have Formaldehyde in it too. So if you don't mind, and if you have the time, can you either post the ingredients on your info box or send me a message? Thanks.

  • @gggrinz I actually don't have anymore bottles left so I can't tell you what the ingredients are, unfortunately. Some brands contain formaldehdye or some derivative of it. You'd have to check with the manufacturer of each brand as they are all different.
