I know my grandfather's and grandmother's family was living in the area later became Slovakia. I heard that they had 24 hours to prepare to be transported to Hungary, with things fit to suitcases they could carry, other relatives were relocated to the emptied Chech land where they similarly taken away the German families. Of course I don't have any negative feelings to people with Slovakian nationality, but to politics, who still keep the law which says my ancestors were collectively guilty.

Olybá tűnt, hogy magyar zene szólt a háttérből magyarul... Ez mellett bemutatták, milyen templomokat emeltek maguknak, kettős kereszttel a tetején! Ellopják még a hagyományainkat, jelképeinket is. Kiemelték, a filmben, hogy milyen fontosnak tartják, hogy megőrizzék az anyanyelvüket az új hazában, különben elveszitenék a kapcsot a gyerekeikkel. És ezt kajálják az amerikaiak. Felháboritó!
Egy dolog volt csupán irigylésreméltó, hogy összetartanak.
Valamelyik nap megnéztem egy DVD-t, ami az amerikába kitelepült szlovákokról szólt. Arról, hogy az USA-ban hogyan őrzik tovább a hagyományaikat generációról generációra. A film bemutatta, hogyan festenek himestojást húsvétra, sütnek beiglit, főznek töltött káposztát stb. Karácsonyra, vágnak disznót, csinálnak kolbászt, népviselet. Bemutatták a mi, magyar hagyományainkat mintha az övék lenne.

Glad to see that such a people also live in Hungary. Seeing many accounts of our neighbours I have recognized important words: Szep Jovot, I guess it means something like "britgher future". It was so frequent that started to think that Magyars are always unsatisfied nation waiting for something similar like Messiah..And this didn´t give me a lot of hope.

I know my grandfather's and grandmother's family was living in the area later became Slovakia. I heard that they had 24 hours to prepare to be transported to Hungary, with things fit to suitcases they could carry, other relatives were relocated to the emptied Chech land where they similarly taken away the German families. Of course I don't have any negative feelings to people with Slovakian nationality, but to politics, who still keep the law which says my ancestors were collectively guilty.

Valamelyik nap megnéztem egy DVD-t, ami az amerikába kitelepült szlovákokról szólt. Arról, hogy az USA-ban hogyan őrzik tovább a hagyományaikat generációról generációra. A film bemutatta, hogyan festenek himestojást húsvétra, sütnek beiglit, főznek töltött káposztát stb. Karácsonyra, vágnak disznót, csinálnak kolbászt, népviselet. Bemutatták a mi, magyar hagyományainkat mintha az övék lenne.

Mindig hallgattuk dédim "meséit" majd nagyim mesélte újra dédim "fájdalmait". Szomorú volt, mégis úgy szívtuk magunkba...
Kitelepítésükkor 5 kg-os kis motyóját a feje fölött vitt, hogy ne ázzon el, mert a Sajón keresztül kellett átjönniük. Még szerencse, hogy sekély volt, és járható! Tanya, tehenek, lovak, birkák, bútorok, étkészletek maradtak a szlovákokra!

@azbiza Igazad van. Mikor a román magyarok kezdtek átmenni magyarországra nem örültek a magyarok. A "testvérnépet" lecigányolták. Tolvajoknak nézték öket és féltek, hogy a magyaroktol elveszik a munkát. Akkor már nem voltak kedvesek. Maradjanak ott ahol vannak.

Én úgy érzem, hogy a magyarok a történelem során jól bántak a kisebbségekkel különben azok már nem beszélnék az anyanyelvüket. Ez is lett a vesztünk, a kisebbségek a fejünkre nőttek Európa segitségével persze. Szépen megháláltak mindent.

Glad to see that such a people also live in Hungary. Seeing many accounts of our neighbours I have recognized important words: Szep Jovot, I guess it means something like "britgher future". It was so frequent that started to think that Magyars are always unsatisfied nation waiting for something similar like Messiah..And this didn´t give me a lot of hope.

there were 160.000 after trianon, but they left soon due to forced population exchanges. those happened after both ww. hungary became a national state after trianon. no significant minorites, so let it alone

160 000 is official number, 399 000 is numbe of "Magyars" speaking slovak language..very strange, I didn´t know that slovak language was so widely spreaded and popular among Magyars in Hungary after magyarization.
