I think the man said it best when he commented about how well antler restrictions are working here in PA. After 10 years hunting hard, I harvested a 134" deer in the first year of antler restrictions. It was the first larger buck I'd ever had a chance at. Now that the restrictions have started, I see more and more large mature bucks every year. Unfortunately, Gary Alt was run out on a rail. Real shame since he is the one who implemented the program. Congratulations
haha easy people i'm not bashin the man or the buck i was just sayin, gun hunting is the easy way thats all. It is what it is, sorry if i pissed anyone off. Great buck man nice shot to by the way.
@MrMcknight3004 Where we are at in pa thats a HUGE buck. They are hunted extremely hard here. Most people would die for a chance to see one half that big.
i went home this year for opening day of archery and the following monday.. i only had two days to hunt and within twenty minutes of hunting i shot a doe and a buck.. im stationed in jacksonville nc in the marine corp and if you think hunting in pennsyvania is bad you need to come here... the biggest doe i shot here this year was 100 pounds.. and the smallest was 40.. and there arent nearly half as many..
i must say i have to disagree with the whole game commission in pennsylvania hurting the deer population with the wildlife management units.. to be honest my father owns 600 acres and i think the bucks that we have been pulling off of there are giants.. then again i do alot for them to get that way.. it may be public land having a problem .. i dont know.. but my buddy hunts public land all the time and does very well with getting 130 plus inch deer ..
I had 160's in my head when i first layed my eyes on it. here in pa most guys will hunt their entire life and never see that class of a buck. He layed down one hell of a pa trophy there.
@jkbear26 the anter growth on this deer isnt just because of antler restrictions this was a smart old buck who prob didnt have any hunting pressure most of its life and if u really knew the real pgc u wouldnt be saying i love pennsylvania haha
@Shellburneroutdoors There are pros and cons to the point restrictions, they are no where near perfect but they are helping alot. Antler restrictions were put in place to make deer grow old and smart but on the con side, they can also kill small legal bucks. Either way, you have more 1 and 2 year old illegal bucks growing one more year older and thats one more year smarter. I saw a nice 2 year old that could have got shot in archery but now its illegal because it broke off a point.
@Leatherwoodoutdoors come on this PGC has this state so screwd up i saw more and shot bigger bucks ten years ago. all i see now is lil bucks laying cause guys shot first and ask questions later than walk away. also killing all the does and button bucks with the 2 weeks of doe is just plain stupid how many bucks get killed befor they even had a chance to get horns. dont get me wrong we may see some record bucks in years to come but all and all its a joke and there is no more deer.
@charger7022 years ago when you saw 20-30 deer a day hunting and the season was 3 days you waited and shot a big mature doe and shot one not 10 now you hunt for two weeks and take what you can get and that inturn kills 70 pound first year deer.
Nice work...glad you decided to grab your camera and share its awesomenous with us...what a beauty big Buck.
Big congrats Pat...and I would have to say that the buck didn't make such a bad mistake in that he is now in the hands of someone who respects such an incredible Deer, you seem worthy to me, congrats again.
Nice, Nice deer...Congrats,,,,you said it,,,.30-06 does it again.

nice buck. not tagged thru the ear though. the law is the law. Don't think AR has anything to do with the rack. Private property is more like it.

Learn to spell tonypoly. It's muzzleloader. Because you load it from the muzzle of the gun... Hence the name...
