@randycramerart I think that its the life of a performer/actor. it begins as a commercial, then its a modeling shoot. gaining fame, he decides to improve himself by plastic surgery (The tape and syrup stuff). After he is worked on, he is out of his shell and onto the stage again as a performer. At the end, he sits and looks at what he's done, and i think he thinks that his life has been wasted, so he snaps..

To me this video is about him sarcastically (almost manically, really) saying that the blatant inequality and gluttony in the world is "funny." (As the note on the refrigerator says, "This isn't funny.") It matches what I take to be the emotional tone of the song very well. It's extremely energetic, as if to say, "Yeah, all of this stuff is wrong and unfair in the world, but HEY! Lets just go on with our lives anyway!" It's tempered by saying it's "not right or wrong," though, ultimately. Imo.

The first time I ever heard Dave was from my sister in the summer of last year. My grandparents fell ill, and this song was basically my inspiration to keep moving. The video made me laugh and hearing the lyrics basically brought my attention to how much worse my life could be.
