@Zalman1337 Its still too much oil for me.For me,I prefer half oil and half vinegar in the same amount.I know most dressings have mostly oil in them.The only oil I do like is canola for the Good Seasons Italian salad dressing that you can make at home with the packet.That does call for more oil than vinegar.Oil is fattening too.
@HattieLovesCattie So use less dressing. A little bit of vinaigrette goes a long way. Anyway, olive oil is better for you than canola oil. It may be fattening but proportionally it has more monounsaturated fat than canola oil.
@Zalman1337 I didn't grow up with olive oil.The real darker olive oil makes me gag but I like the lighter ones for bread dipping ( with balsamic vinegar.).I grew up with old veggie oil.I 'm using sunflower oil now.I'm a vinegar lover and splurged on a bottle of real sherry wine vinegar and fancy red wine vinegar.I do add a little extra vinegar to my dressings .
@HattieLovesCattie Darker olive oil is usually extra virgin, meaning it was the first press and the highest quality. It has a good flavor if you like olive oil, but it's not good for cooking with. Lighter ones are better for cooking with because they have a higher smoke point. I guess it just comes down to personal taste. I love olive oil for dressings and for cooking, but I can't stand olives.
@Zalman1337 I grew up in the south,it was peanut oil,corn oil ( which my Mom rarely bought ) or veg oil.She would fry things in peanut oil but for everything else ,we used veg oil.I love black olives but hate green olives.I also splurged recently and bought a bottle of rosemary olive oil,lord it smells so good.I use it with balsamic vinegar for dipping bread in.

Thats too much oil.Someone gave me a good recipe for this dressing years ago.The oil and vinegar are the same amount.
