  • my goodness, she's out of breath

  • Of all musical numbers for roxie to perform :/ hello? what about roxie or funny honey at least :')

  • i like this version but i think bianca marroquin made a better roxie

  • just saw this last night. she was amazing and so sweett !!

  • I love Charlotte to death, but her movement is to "big" for this choreography. It's akin to running a marathon rather than small, sharp movements that the Fosse style calls for....

I know in the end, there are these galloping type jumps, but other than that, there isn't as much traveling as Charlotte displayed.

  • Loved this. But does anyone know where to find a vid of Ann Reinking doing this number? There is a truncated version (only the beginning) on here, and you can tell it's different.

  • is tht chuck norris on the left? gosh he's good at every thing

  • Ruthie Henshall couldn't dance like that if she tried.

  • good but not as good as ruthie henshall!

  • I love Charlotte, but I could do without her whispering "Hah!" at every move...

  • she is taking a breath

  • Fooking hell...wow!

  • What a gorgeous voice and an amazing dancer too!

  • fantastic!!!

  • Watch her in "The In Crowd" 1988,she plays "Ina".

  • i love her, i used to dance for her dad when i was little

  • I just saw her in Chicago! AMAZING!

  • Charlotte is SO GREAT in this role... I saw her last night in the show on tour and she was just fantastic. Not only is she a brilliant dancer, but she's a great actress, which is so important for playing Roxie, I think.

  • I think Brynn Dowling does it better =S

  • Amazing!!! There are too many good Roxie's like Ann Reinking Ruthie Henshall Bianca Maroquin Charlotte, of course, Gwen Verdon in the original, Marilu Henner, Melainie Griffin, and Brooke Shields I can't pick a favorite it's too hard!!!!

  • i saw bianca

    c'est manifique

  • Me too She was amazing!!!

  • Don't forget Liza Minnelli also played Roxie to great reviews, standing in for Verdon for over a month during an illness

  • @Capricaquarius89 I actually saw Liza Minnelli and she could not do this choreography so they did it like an Eddie Cantor number where all she did was run around patting her hands together. It was wondrous when Gwen Verdon returned and you could enjoy the amazing choreography.

  • i love her dancing skills! she's great!

  • i just saw her as roxie on valentine's day. FUCKING AMAZING.

  • same here! I also saw a movie about her audition process when she did "A chorus line"

  • This is so awesome! I had the opportunity to choreograph this number in my schools production of CHICAGO, & i'm using this choreography.... i love Charlotte :)

  • I love the excitement in her voice, but i love the raspiness of Ann Reinkings voice

  • I know her!!!

  • Kander and Ebb.. oh I can't seem to get enough of their music, especially when it's coupled with Fosse.

  • its funny she was cast as chris in Carrie and that was a huge flop and here she is in a huge show, also linzi hateley was Carrie in Carrie and she played Roxie hart

  • Too old? you do know the part was written for a "past her prime" Gwen Verdon right??

  • lol yeah no kidding Gwen was 60

  • george959595 thanks yeh i understand the purpose of this appearance... obviously to promote the show, i asked because i have seen this several times on tour (i work in a theatre in UK) and i have seen Denise Van Outen do it in Westend and never have i witness such an amazin routine for this number! so it must be different between UK/UK tour and US! it was amazin, then i thought mayb it has been made more difficult for charlotte seeing she is well known for her dancin especially! i am wrong? T

  • ok help me out here! i do think she would make a better velma (looks/age wise) but i wouldnt overly say she is too old for roxie - i think she is quite acceptable! wot baffles me is the dance routine? can anyone tell me in broadway did she do that exact routine or was that inhanced for the TV? i just cant remember it bein "that" dancy the several times i have seen the show! it kinda killed her singin, but that could never take away from how amazin a dancer she is!

  • I haven't been at the show in about a year but I think it's the same routine.

  • This is the same exact choreography used in the Broadway production (the whole point of this appearance was to get people to come see the show after all). Notice that the Roxie character even wears special shoes just for this song so she could do all the jumps and other choreography that wouldn't be possible in the regular heels her character wears.

  • It's only danced like this if the actress chosen is capable of doing...for instance, I saw Bebe in the role of Roxie and the choreography was toned down due to her previous hip injury.

  • bebe neuwirth played roxie?

  • Yep...she originated the role of Velma but a year ago she came back to the show to play Roxie for a limited time. She was great!

  • This is the choreography used in the Broadway production, and was in no way enhanced for television. The dance is tailored to each specific Roxie, but the basic framework remains the same. Charlotte d'Amboise is obviously one of the best dancers to inhabit the role, and has always killed with this number. The result is inevitably a more "dancy" "Me and My Baby."

  • no offense but she looks a little too old for the part, although oher than that i think she fits the partquite well

  • I agree, she is just a little bit old for the part. But I saw he rin the show, and she really is quite amazing. Not as good as Gwen Verdon but a job well done

  • um..guess what...the character is supposed to be old-ish(gwen verdon originated the role, smart one, towards the end of her career)....the movie changed everything about the characters. just letting you know that

  • And remember, Roxie does have the line in the show "I am older than I ever expected to be!"

  • too bad she doesn't dance like this in a chorus line

  • i love this woman but my favorite will always be Gwen Verdon (look up chicago spongebob and watch parts 2 and 8 to see what i am talking about)

  • She is a GREAT dancer! Bravo!

  • I love her energy and her movements!

    she's awesome :)

  • fosse fosse fosse!! lol love it thanks for posting!

  • love the dancing!!!!

  • fantastic dancer!

  • is she lip singing?

  • i find it really weird that the first roxie u eva listen to u always think is the best and den wen ya listen to others der amazin. but for sum reason u prefer the first one u eva listen to mine was renee zell weger from the movie and same wid velma catherine zeta jones.

  • I saw Chicago in 1997 (saw the musical first) I was very disappointed with the movie mainly Rene Zellwegger portrayal (dancing, humor (lack of it) etc) but I do like her in other movies. Just my opinion

  • yeah people have different opinions have not really seen it for a while so i might change my mind. i saw it at the liverpool empire on the 24th april 2007. and i loved it. there was some talent on that stage.

  • mm good

  • One of the best Roxie's to ever play the part.

  • i saw her as a stand by for sweet charity October 2005

  • Anybody know what year this is froom because I know she did it off and on from 1999 to 2004

  • September 2002, if my memory serves me correctly.

  • She is amazing

  • where are there tap shoes

  • Black lady in the background is Michelle robinson she has been in the show since it was revived. Our school was the first in Utah to do it so she gave us lessons in New York and actually I saw sweet charity and Charlotte was subbing in for Christina Applegate and we had that one t.v. star playing roxy...

  • Do you guys know who her dad is? I took master classes with him when I was a ballet dancer! VERY VERY SWEET man..she could ONLY be sweet and lovely. He must be proud!

  • Charlotte is amazing, both as Roxie and as Cassie... but even more so as Charlotte! Truly one of the most lovely women I've met.

  • charlotte was a fantastic Roxie. Smart, Sexy and Deadly.

  • The new Cassie.
