I can't wait for the day when everybody has the confidence to try selling their own home. There really isn't that much more to the process than there is to sell your car. Get a lawyer and promote your home using signs, websites and newspaper classifieds.

And qualifying buyers. You'd be shocked at how many people like to go out just looking at homes for the fun of it. It's cheap fun.
I work as a business broker but got my start as a residential real estate agent. I was always shocked at what little I had to do to sell a home. The MLS used to be an information monopoly but no more.
People can do just as well so long as they have the tools and knowledge.
