@MsColdCanada i know in canada all people convicted of multiple homicides after 1997 no longer receive parole before the 25 years are up, before then everyone serving 15 years automatically got a faint hope clause and the parole board almost paroled him but he missed his parole chance by 1 vote, as of march 2011 anyone caught in 1st degree murder can get faint hope as long as nothing violent such as rape, terrorism or torture was used, those that do can have their clause rejected by a jury.
