@corrymccarthy Why are they mounted at the front? I seem to notice it in many other off road vehicles, is it to keep the overhead clearance as low as possible?
ok, cool. when do you need to do a roadworthy? only when selling the vehicle? and after you fit the the mandrel, didn't the cruiser need a remap of the software, so it's calibrated to run with that exhaust? did you feel an increase in power when you put the new pipe?
have neva had to get a roadworthy cert yet but if the cops pull me over and have a look then they might say its illegal so then i would have to, na the exhaust bolts up in bout an hour and no remap of the ecu bcoz its after the engine not bfore but I have put a performance chip on it since and that remaps the ecu and also ups the boost pressure, i do have a video posted on here of the dyno if you look through my vids, 45% increase in power from the chip and exhaust together
ye, they also discontinued the 4.5 petrol here. selling a 4.0 V6 from the hilux as replacement. but most guys buy the 4.2 diesel, no turbo. really, reaally slow truck that one mate. are you allowed to change your exhaust? i'm asking with respect to your warranty from toyota and some or laws you might have in Aus?
yea I'm very familiar with the 4.2 diesel I had one a while ago and yes very slow, I changed my exhaust within a week of buying the ute to a 3 inch mandrel bent performance exhaust with no catalytic converters which toyota didnt mind and said that if anything went wrong with the exhaust that obviously they wouldnt cover it but still cover everything else, the law over here does state you need cats but I kept the old exhaust just incase I need to get it passed as roadworthy
@corrymccarthy is the wagon cheaper than this truck then. it says the wagon sells for 67 000, but won't give a price on a cab chassis due to tray fitment issues.
Yea says the same on the australian website but I'm sure the wagon is more expensive and yea they should come with lockers standard but there are that many aftermarket lockers available also Aust only gets the v8 turbo diesel I think due to emissions they couldnt sell the 1HZ motor anymore here
Because I didnt order it from toyota I bought it brand new out of the yard, I could've ordered it and waited 4 months just to have factory lockers but ARB air lockers are still on the list of things to do

crazy that they sell a vehicle such as this without lockers. here in SA they it's standard, but you get that 4.2 NA motor from 1912.
