Actually...weasels are pretty darn cute. A snake would've been a more appropriate descriptor. If that snake had any grace or dignity, which he doesn't, he would be the one stepping down instead of firing so many good faculty the last few years. He will be the downfall of SWAU.
I removed my previous posts because they were written in anger, but I do want to state that you definitely confronted the wrong person. The student body president is NOT the president of the school. Eric Anderson is the person you need to talk to about this, because he's the one who fires people when they don't agree with him. He's been doing it for years and claiming it's the economy that's forcing his hand. Stop looking for a scape goat and confront the weasel Anderson himself.
I would love to give my opinion on this current situation that is affecting SWAU and also how the current student body is poorly approaching this and mismanaging this opportunity to use their voice...
When did approaching the wrong person become a way or getting 'answers'?
No school is perfect and no administration gets everything done. What is the goal of this cross section of the student body? To make themselves look bad and misinformed while approach
I believe this video does more to hurt the students cause than it does to help. Plus, I think the students taking "action" is hurting Dean Knight's chances of getting a job elsewhere. All the other schools are going to associate him with your "actions" and will not to bring that sort of trouble to their school. So stop it. Give the man a chance to get a good job elsewhere.
I love that you guys are taking action and standing up for what you believe is right. I only wish that I was still there to act with my SWAU family. Keep it up, and just like what was said in the prayer, remember to act by using your mind's and not your heart. Even with all that's going on I still love SWAU and how being a student there has changed me and my life. God bless!
Please read 1 Corinthians 6:1-6. While the context is slightly different, posting this conflict for the world to see is violating the same principle as going before a secular court to solve personal conflicts among Christians. I understand that many things could have been handled differently, but do we want to share with the world that we can't solve our own conflicts without bitterness, anger, and hateful speech?
Come on guys. "They will know we are Christians by our love" John 13:34, 35
sorry posted early...anyways been here, done this and a quick reminder that RESPECT for the parties involved in this mess is crucial. you may not agree like I didn't but you still owe people respect. Your actions in the next few days will follow you for the rest of your career and life so please be very mindful of the fact that there is a time and a place...
@hieballa: I would rather be hated by faculty than by students, if I represented and was voted for by students.
That being said, faculty wont hate you for speaking what is in your heart. I wrote a rather scathing email to the entire faculty last year. I received several negative replies. No one even hinted at hatred. They respectfully disagreed. And there is nothing wrong with that.
and dem was legitament questions, if he cant answer who he supports, then he shouldnt even be the presidents towl boy, dudes a strait puppet n a strait snitch
Man, I shouldn't have confronted him in a public arena like that. He was quite pigeon-holed. Wasnt really fair. I regret that, and even apologized in the video (5:15).
BUT....
Those were legitimate questions. His responses were unacceptable.
for the question about did he approve of the administration and whatnot, no, it wasn't a legitimate question. it was one of those questions that no matter what he answered, he would end up being hated by either the faculty or the students. there was no reason for him to prepare for that question, because it's incredibly rude to ask that in the first place.
@Kofi703 I'm glad you see that your confrontation was rude. I disagree that his responses were unacceptable. He has to maintain a figure for both the faculty and the student body. Yes, the faculty won't hate him, but they can certainly kick him out of office just as easily as you can. I have major respect for Benton, even though him and I definitely don't see eye to eye. He handled this best he could.
@swauedu1 Lol really? Do you watch TV and take everything they say as truth? Let's remember he was praying, and in a public area. And by the way, the swau name as your nickname is an embarrassment. Sorry, but this is getting out of control and is also INCREDIBLY biased. This isn't journalism as you may think. This is an opinion piece, with no objectivity whatsoever.
hey im thinking about going to this school...whats going on here? i dont get it...?

I just watched Lie to Me and putting one hands next to your crouch is a defensive mechanism. Just food for thought.
