koo/tan is a great combination but what makes their game even worse when they make decision to reject rexy mainaky his former coach.rexy is good and guide them to be no.1 double & 1 of the best in badminton today BUT look at their performance now???all chinese player in Malaysia now is change their coach to chinese because of races.they dont want to share their victory money to other races coach.eventhough they have achieved a great performance with their coach.same like lee chong wei.
Great game, but I didn't like the third set. The Malaysian pair looked tired and wasn't giving it their all. They looked lazy to play, to be honest. Malaysia could have won if they actually gave it their all.
If someone underestimates Cai's smashes... well, two examples: either one can take a look the semifinal of TC2010 (also against Koo/Tan), or the semifinal of SudirmanCup 2003 (together with ZhangWei who has really weak backcourt against Sigit/Candra).
@TheKaiserbun A lot of people seem to think the skills of pro players are beyond criticism. Whenever a pro player is criticized the backlash is always along the lines of "I'd like to see you do better" which is childish because not all of us have devoted 10,000 hours of training. I'm actually a big fan of fu/cai and they've certainly had a lot success with their formation. I'm just making a point about his weak smash that can be frustrating to watch in its inability to finish points.
@dragonsrage449 Valid point. But in any case, defense is getting better in general all over the world. I understand what you're saying just don't like the term abysmal in case of them, because it clearly isn't abysmal just not amazing......
@TheKaiserbun Valid point as well. I admit my word choice wasn't great here. It was more of a heat of the moment thing from my frustration over him not being able to end the point from the back but like you said defense is amazing these days. After watching closely it does seem that Cai is not trying to end the point from the back but rather using weaker/sliced smashes to move up and get into the favorable formation with Fu in the back.
@dragonsrage449 Ty, Cai rarely ever uses a hard enough smash. Either 2/3 or steep smash to either go in or setup for the big man, he's been doing it for almost a decade now so you gotta understand :). Fun talking with ya
@defaultoasis True, it doesn't come down to one person's skill but having more weapons doesn't hurt does it? Sure we all know Fu is weaker at the front and in defense compared to Cai, but Fu has improved considerably in both areas recently. When you become more well rounded while keep your strengths you have more options--you can still find a way to win in less desirable situations.
Fuck you China!!!!!!Si bei lan c!!!

Does anyone notice how ridiculous it is to use an overhead view, which shows nothing of the players' movement?!

well, why dont u go and tell tan to work on his everything, comparing to koo? its doubles and this game doesnt come down to one single man's skill

@defaultoasis Tan probably did a lot better than koo in this match, and he has been doing a lot better than Koo lately. Just saying :)
