Thank you so much for posting this! I have also heard about this for years and love Leonard Rossiter's work and have for many years. I saw him in "Loot" not long before he died. Wonderful! Thanks again!
OH MY GOD! How is it that I have never heard of this, ever? I grew up on Reginald Perrin and came to idolize Leonard. This is the last kind of role I would have ever pictured him doing. This has to be one of my biggest youtube surprises ever!
LOL

It is said that Johnny Depp wants to play him in a film about Le Petomane.

Lighting paper down a constant flow of water was a classic prank in the toilets of the Liverpool dockers back in the 1930s

I have argued with people about the existence of this film. Youtube has proved me right after 20 years!

It looks like Joseph set a piece of paper on fire and put it in a wastebasket (???) I thought I heard one of the soldiers yell "fire."
higgeroo 4 years ago
He lit the paper boat and floated it down the open sewer, burning the bums of the guys sitting on the toilet....
Johnaw54 4 years ago 4
What exactly happened at the end where all the guys jumped from the toilets.
AngelSSQ 4 years ago

Pure class. I remember coming home to this after the pub one night. A very enjoyable end to a very dull evening.
