Are the broomsticks actually necessary? I mean wouldn't you say their a hidrince rather than a help. I've looked through the rules and they don't seem to be for any benefit other than show.

@shaun056 i'd say it helps make the game last long. seekers would have alot easier time catching 'the snitch' if they didn't need to run with a broom in between their legs.

@shaun056 They're more of a symbol. Quidditch wouldn't be the same without the brooms. In the books all the passes and shots are made one handed, it's the same in real Quidditch.
