There is a whole load of poor information in this short video. Barrels should be carried up, not down. When one swings up to shoot, the barrel makes an arc that can easily swing through the dog out front on the ground. One should not even see the front bead or barrel when shooting, the eye must never leave focus on the target.
by the time you feel the recoil the shot has already left the barrel. a slow shell travels 1200fps and most game guns are what 28" barrels? thats like 0.1 of a second. like many have said point not aim.
i use a shotgun mainly for hunting moving targets, and to hit moving targets you must not take time to aim a gun, we call it riffleing, the gun should be moving with the target at all times and as it over takes the target you fire, i agree with bigoink on that one.

POA is different for every gun - a skeet or trap gun will aim like he says - a game gun will aim higher... sounds like the guy's knowledge base is a little limited to say the least. . Shoot at a pattern plate to find out where your poa should be - and get some trigger time...
not all shotguns have grooves. hell my .410 doenst even have a bead. most of quick shotgun shooting consists of hand-eye coordination than anything else. i dont have time to take careful aim when im shooting a flying dove. thats where a shotgun that fits is most important.

This is laughable. The shot is clear of the barrel before recoil affects point of aim. He is likely using a swing through where the momentum of the gun being mounted continues the upward swing through the target. Hard focus on the target, never the barrel. In fact, many tournament shooters remove the bead.
I like the film content, very good. However, the title should be changed by replacing the word "aim" with "point." I say this because you don't "aim" a shotgun like you would a rifle, you "point" the shotgun at the target, a bird in this case.
It runs over the basics. You aren't expected to watch YouTubes and go shoot, you should seek additional instruction and education. The just covers the simple aspects of it so you won't be totally lost.

wow.. this video might have made me worse.. you dont aim lower than your target you. If your holding the gun properly in your shoulder the kick wont mess anything up

This guy dont know anything. You shouldn't have to aim, the gun should come up to where your eyes are and follow your eyes. I could honestly take my bead off and still get the same number of hits. The gun just becomes a part of you. Before you buy a gun, pull it up to your shoulder and make sure it feels right. Don't just buy a gun you think looks cool, it has to be a part of you

hunters don't leave their kills there to rot, they hunt to eat. people that are fucked in the head kill animals just to see them die which is not the same as hunting.

i hunt and i alwasy eat what i take down (quail, deer etc), if not then i just dont shoot it unless it is a pest (rats,ground hogs)

Thats bolloxs about aiming under the bird because of the recoil, because the speed at which the pellets would be flying, They would be out of the gun before you even feel the recoil or hear the bang.

exactly wright, when i and my mates shoot at a bird you just aim about 6 inches in front depending on the distance, and squeeze the trigger, not aim below as that is dum and you will miss!

POA is different for every gun - a skeet or trap gun will aim like he says - a game gun will aim higher... sounds like the guy's knowledge base is a little limited to say the least. . Shoot at a pattern plate to find out where your poa should be - and get some trigger time...

not all shotguns have grooves. hell my .410 doenst even have a bead. most of quick shotgun shooting consists of hand-eye coordination than anything else. i dont have time to take careful aim when im shooting a flying dove. thats where a shotgun that fits is most important.

@superrcpilot1 you aim everything you shoot.rifles are the easiest thing to shoot because majority of the time your aiming at a sitting target.shotguns however 9 times out of 10 your aiming at a moving target.i shoot both myself so i know what i'm talking about.even throwing a stone you must aim.hhhmmm .........so i wonder do you aim when your pissing or do you just spray and pray??????.that is how i prove your principle wrong.dumb ass.

This is laughable. The shot is clear of the barrel before recoil affects point of aim. He is likely using a swing through where the momentum of the gun being mounted continues the upward swing through the target. Hard focus on the target, never the barrel. In fact, many tournament shooters remove the bead.

I like the film content, very good. However, the title should be changed by replacing the word "aim" with "point." I say this because you don't "aim" a shotgun like you would a rifle, you "point" the shotgun at the target, a bird in this case.

It runs over the basics. You aren't expected to watch YouTubes and go shoot, you should seek additional instruction and education. The just covers the simple aspects of it so you won't be totally lost.
