The sound and effects however are a bit distracting.^^° Though this one has better effects (and obviously better fighting scenes due to advanced camera technic) than the first serie, IMO the make-up in the first one was much, much better and realer. Still, Liu Xiao Ling Tong is the best Monkey King EVER! Undoubtly!

well the one with liu xiao ling tong is considered to be the classic adaption with very close plot to the original. However the special effects may be a little bit cheesy in the first part, but in the 2nd part it's much better (which you can see here in this vid), but in my opinion the first part is the best!

I saw this on TV this afternoon. This teleplay was made in 1986 and it's the first teleplay based on the "Jorney To The West" story.
