  • I like this song a lot. I miss my Motherland. God bless Lao

  • Oui, il me rappelle également de regarder ma chère sœur cadette, qui a effectué une Dok Champa Lao danse. Elle dansait si bien. J'adore cette chanson tellement parce qu'il présente une signification symbolique de la culture lao, langue et tradition.

  • @khonglao i'm in Lao blood and realize that Lao is not a land without music not rock n roll any ways if it wasn't for Lao the rock n roll hall of fame would only be half full we are like one of tiniest countries ever but we are so great rich in cultures, languages and traditions. This country could yet rise from it's state of demise if we ever secure a government who cares. Thank you Lao for your musical genius.

  • Beautiful song.I love it.

  • I love this Oh Dok Champa song very much. This song is one of the very legendary songs for all eternal times. There are so many singers that have chosen to sing this song. Noi sings so well and she is also much more beautiful than Dok Champa.

  • The Dok Champa song is the most famous Lao song in the world. The Lao language is as beautiful as the French language. Very pleasing to the ear. I enjoy listening to it.

Lao, I am come home sweet home!!!!!

    Vientiane, see you soon.

  • its different laos and thai. i can understand some thai but i can speak and understand laos better. laos is like ghetto and thai is proper.

    ~phouthai

  • lao is not ghetto it's blunt and strait forward. there's a proper way of talking because even in america there's the proper way of taking and the ghetto ways...

  • I assume you are from Thailand. Lao and Thai are more similar than you think, but Thai language change as time progresses. Some of the words come from chinese language, and some from english. Like the word toot, at first I had no idea what it mean until I watched Tootsie movie. Next time before you say anything disrespectfull, please do some research.

  • fanplaing,

First, I like to say I am a life long learner. I pray for a world peace and non-prejudice. Do you think that will happen in our life time? I know my comments wasn't politically correct, and I want to thank you for your true opinion. Last, why does Thaksin's admt. got overthrew by the group that was supported by the Thais' royal family? Do you think is because he (Thaksin)pro- Esan?

  • KonlaoPasan,

It seems to me that you've educate yourself about the 40s and dwell on it. Reputable Government officials, Politicians, Educators and Artists in Thailand are of Isan's background. Only the narrow minded ones and selves proclaimed exerts that we (Thais) are having difficulty accedpting.

  • She is Khon Lao 100% I-san doesn't have that kind of accent. Trust me, I am from there.

  • what yall talking about she khon lao 100% and my frinds know her .. my friend pick her up from the airport. like a year or two year ago .. if i can remmber..

  • She is so beatiful, and love her lovely voice.

  • SaBaiDee. This song makes me cry everytime . The more you're far away from your homeland the more you're thinking of it. Peace to ALL of us

(Lao Nay and Lao Nork). Hopefully, someday peace will surface and transfer as smooth as this song. From: Lao Love Lao 1207

  • As my teacher ever say: "There is never lack of beautiful music in our world; what really lack is the ears (minds) to listen to them." I was so deeply moved (like LLL did) by its genial melody when I first heard this piece on a Laos/Thailand classical music CD, and pacified with the idyllically and euphemistically tone. May people keep immersing in the fragrance of the supreme Champa Flower! Thanks for the great translation by RoyalLAO! (Lai, at TAIWAN)

  • Responding to kayness1. I guess the reasons Thai (not E-san, I considered them Lao) doesn't pay attention to the neighboring countries is that Thai seem to think that they're a superior race in S.E Asia countries. For example, E-San was once Laos. E-San is now Thailand, since the 40s when France gave E-San to Thailand. E-San ppls never excepted by Thais as there kind. E-San is still look down by most Thais. Peace to you all.

  • haaha...well.

okay, last time I lived in Thailand the attitude was like that, I don't live there anymore. Bear in mind this is 12 years ago

my family is permanently based in Singapore, and believe me Singaporeans sometimes look down on Thai people as well, because you know, Singapore is economically better off than Thailand and you know the reputation of Thai women...

so it's like a vicious chain. it sucks...I think we should break it.

I love this song so much! XD

  • thats all true.real thai people they think, they much higher then e-san people.40 yrs ago they lookdown at e-san and lao people.

  • She is very beautiful. I never saw her before. I know that she is Lao 100%.

I don't know why most our Lao people like to put our people down. Every times they see a beautiful person they always think that, oh she look like chinese or japanese or vietnamese.

Common people. Why don't we get credit when we look good or smart. Be pround of yourself.

I am pround to be Lao.

  • I'm with you. Tell them like it is brother, sister?

  • I think you need to take a humanity class. Chinese, korea, Japanese, vietnamese and Buck Lao are all the same cocation. There are three kind of people. Black, white, and yellow (Asian) for those arab and India are in the same group of white people.

  • you are right.

  • I think they are just trying to wind us up :P

  • is the singer male or female? all you asians look the same tbh

  • C`mon...wrong place wrong time, this is not Pattaya or Phuket,Thailand.

    the singer is female...lmao

  • You must be black person..or you must be very stupid person that you can't even tell the different between our asian people. Only the the dumn and stupid people talk like you..

  • Koy Ka Khon Lao Kuae Jao Hun Leiw Aye Or Auey.

I eat Pak Dak, Kao Niew, Tum Mark Huo, Sommu, and Lam. And listen to Morlum too.

what the hell r u talking about I'm not BUCK Lao. Maybe I'm beig more lao than you.

  • For416.

sorry,my coments were messup. I was saying to someone else. thank you for being Lao. Peace.

  • Geandily, what made u think that she looks like a chinese or a japanese. In my life i have never seen a chinese that looks like that.

  • because you are LOSO..you know what LOSO is?

I know that you are not Lao. If you are Lao. You would not put her down like that.

  • Loso0008.

sorry I was mistaken with someone else.

I was supposed to responed to (geandily)

    Sorry.

  • so is she chinese or japanese?

  • She is 100% laotian....

  • she is also physic. Mor Doo, she can read palm. If u don't believe me , go to BuckHumLae 's channel.

  • you're welcome. I'm Thai, so that's why even though I can read what you wrote, I am not confident enough to attempt to answer to you in Lao :).

I also love this song, even though I only discovered it last year when I developed an interest in Lao culture. I wish Thai schools had paid more attention to its neighbouring countries!

  • kayness1, thank you for the kind comment. History has it, we were one. So don't be a stranger to your neighbors. They curious about you too. Your movies and songs are cool but a lot of us would love to get to know you face to face.

  • You are khon Thai and can read pasa Lao. I am Lao and I can read Thai too, but I can not write. Believe me it is not that hard for Thai people to read lao if they try. Becasue they look kind of similar if you compare them.

  • WOW! A new twist to the Lao classical song! I like it with new up beat and you can lumvong to it haha

  • i really like this song...what does it mean...

  • can someone translate the lyrics for me please?

  • Simplified Translations:

Oh! Champa Flower, when I admire you

I could envision thousands in my mind.

I could see your heart; I could enjoy your sweet fragrance.

I could see the flower garden that my father had planted long ago.

Whenever I feel melancholy, I think of thee

and I no longer feel lonely or sad.

Oh! Champa Flower, you have stood by my side

    since I was young.

Your fragrance is significant; in my heart it stands with love and affection.

  • 2 con't

I treasure your sweet scent, for when I feel lonely, I can breathe in your sweet fragrance, My Dear Sweet Champa.

Sniffing your delicate fragrance is like my long lost friend.

You have been a beautiful flower since the beginning of time,

My Dear Champa Flower, My Beloved Flower.

Oh! Champa Flower, the flower of our beloved country, Muang Laos, you are as beautiful as glittering stars.

    see 3 con't

  • 3 con't

    All Lao people adore you in their hearts;

You are born in Lan Xaang, the Land of a Million Elephants.

If we depart from our homeland and flee far away from here, we will always have you as our true friend as long as we live.

Oh! Champa Flower, the exquisitely beautiful flower, and the auspicious flower of Muang Laos.

Start with Simplified translations, then to 2 con't thus end with 3 con't

  • Thank you very much:)

  • I couldn't have thought of a better translation!

  • I agree wit ya Kayness1. Good song. Thax for sharing.
