  • Rod Serling is the 20th centrury`s version of Edgar Allen Poe. pure genious!

  • I truly Miss this man. I grew up in the same town as he, Binghamton NY, and although I've never met him, his presence has always been felt.

  • @RandomConcepts i was thinkin Herb Alpert morphed with Dean Martin, lol =D

  • I would have loved to have the chance to meet him. His Twilight Zone is my favorite TV series, even though they were made more than a decade before I was born.

  • What an amazing individual! Every one of these videos.....1 through 16 are timeless and priceless knowledge for writers in this world. Many of his story ideas (which I viewed as a child), influenced me to write music. His stories always seemed to be in the back of my mind when I composed.

  • ..AND I BLEED

  • Rod Serling was a most influencial and inspiration figure in creative writing in regards to influencing other writers. He was also one of television's greatest narrators.

  • The rules today do not apply for television today especially in American television. That's why we have nothing but mindless trash of tv today

  • Holy cow, is it me or does Sterling right now looks like a mix of Clooney and Columbo (especially with the cigar)?!

  • Rod Serling is truely brilliant. Twilight Zone is timeless. Im in the process of watching all 5 seasons, amazing.

  • A Man before his time!!

  • Thanks a lot for uploading this. I wondered who the other three are?

And yes, before I read the comments I sent the link to a friend with the title 'Turkish Columbo' (a very weird joke based on very bad films).

  • Looking at this, there's a strong similarity to Columbo.

  • haha, I came to this vid after watching a Stephen King interview where the top comment was "He somehow resembles a turtle"....

    And yep...he looks like Columbo...

On to the next writer interview with resemblance comment me thinks...

  • Glad I'm not the only one to think that!

  • I love Rod Serling. He was so creative with developing ideas for the Twilight Zone and helping many actors/actresses get their start. I own the definitive collection and it is greatly cherished. He is truly one of the best writers of the 20th century!

  • Rod Serling called it like he saw it and what he saw was the truth.

They should name a library after him!

  • they did

  • It was Hemingway...

  • Rod Serling is legend!

  • Ugh, how awesome it would have been to have been in the presence of him and his mind... the only person television ever needed. Nothing will ever compare.

  • Rod, we miss you! Thank you for giving us the Twilight Zone!

  • Wow, I never saw this before, thanks for posting! Rod Serling was a genius!

The original black and white Twilight Zones were awesome! The ones from the 80's were...well...good in their own write, but they can't hold a candle to the originals!

  • i freaking love twilight zones! :)

  • That's a serious toupee.

  • Imagine having him as a professor at Ithaca. 3 hours with him and you would have thought only 10 minutes had passed.

  • Thanks for that comment. I remember watching Twilight Zone at 11, then one night Rod Sterling's voice came to me and it was a narrative I never heard before. I wrote it down. And now I write songs, aphorisms and poetry as a hobby. All thanks to his inspiration.

  • @ilsy74 Omg me too!!! This man was a pure genius.

  • @emidore I go to Cornell and I'm gunna go on a Rod Serling excursion next semester. I'm going to Binghamton and I also believe that there was an event here at Sage Chapel...genius is so magnetic

  • ... "and I bleed..." how cool is that?

  • Good ideas to come up with some Twilight Zone stories but then the next thing you know your in the Twighlight Zone. He made it so easy.

  • I think it was Hemingway who said that about writing and bleeding.

  • Cool thanks!

  • If I'm not mistaken, this was done at Ithaca College?

  • brilliant, thank you!!

  • Awesome! great find ;-) where did you find it?

  • These are great. Where did you get these?
