a very different technique than mine, but very successful. I do face paintings by using earth colors, like sepia, umber, white and then gradually turn it into a detail by shading with different colors from my palette.I mix my colors usually on the canvas.Later on, I glace it a few times on dry. But I did also a la prima face. Thanks for the video. You have talent.
Thanks for your nice comments. I don´t use a specific technique to paint a portrait.
Mostly I paint first the lights followed by the shadows, halftones and finally the highlights. Otherwise my halftones are too dark. Many times it works sometimes don´t (then I take my big rag and save the canvas ;).
My colors: white, yellow, red, transparent oxide red/brown, raw umber, coeruleum blue and viridian.
@MrPicment Thanks for the feedback.Funny enough, yesterday before I saw your video,I was painting and listening to the same piano concerto #2 2nd movement of Chopin.Who plays it? I have Martha Argerich and Andre Watts playing.Keep up the good work.
A very delicate painting I like it..

It is Lang Lang and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra - Zubin Mehta.
It´s simple! Good music - good (or rather happy) painting ;)
