  • the best

  • evh @ adolescence !

  • un genio grande steve vai

  • never ever seen anyone play a box of Cadburys milk tray before!

  • is there really the need steve?

  • why he's wearing a housecoat?

  • That heart is the most ridiculous looking guitar I have ever seen.

  • @ANOTHERHOLEINYOHEAD I totally agree with that

  • Steve Vai in total> John Sykes in total

John Sykes in whtiesnake > Steve Vai in whitesnake

  • but..is it one of teh first versions of For The LOve of God he played?

  • heart guitars. bitches looooove heart guitars

  • @sreynoldsbros2 he wasn't playing eruption lol

  • @311clay listen to 6:18 again

  • His Jem is releasing lightning! O.o

  • That's what I call playing with the heart!

  • 4:30 suck kt karate kid

  • STEVE VAI IS A BAD MOTHER FUCKER!!!

  • People that say "He doesn't play with feeling" are pissed that neither they or their favorite artists could play like this to save their lives:-(

  • who noticed he played eruption?

  • steve is a god playing guitar .

  • People who like to talk shit about this solo and how he shreds here and there need to realize....this is just his solo section from the show. That's what you do. That's what it's for. Just playing what ever you want, and showing some skills. Duh!

  • Comparing Steve Vai to Dime is insulting. Dime could start a 200 yard wide pit with just the intro to "A NEW LEVEL". Dime = pure talent. He wasn't book taught at a "learn to jackoff and play at the same time" university of shred. Pure Texas blues rubbed off on Dime. You can hear blues licks all over the place in Pantera tunes. Go listen to any Vai, then listen to the solo in "The Sleep". Now who's the real talent? A good player has feel. Until you learn that, you know nothing. Vai=SHIT Jems suck

  • @everybodydancenow987 ok you are just an ass that knows nothing about music or instruments or probably anything, that is an assinine statement you made. i dont usually respond to pure ignorance and stupidity nut i couldnt ignore your comment, especially when your trying to say steve vai plays with no feeling because even if you srent into his music that is undenyable, all the guy does is FEEL the music, i mean have you ever heard a more unique guitarist than steve? yeah, hendricks and eddie

  • @scottfree6 You sir, are a cock sucker.

  • @everybodydancenow987MAM, i know that remark took yoiu quite a bit of thought and introspection to come uo with, by far the most informative and intelligent remark i have ever seen. i guess i have just been out intellectualized here by the obvious likes of a true genious and expert skin flute soloist. looking forward to reading more of your unprecedented intellectual myanderings and insight. well said, well done, and brilliant. im sure all will agree with you!!

  • I see Steve is playing selections from his solo cd "Passion and Warfare" =)

  • haha with that guitar you can play a song for your girlfiriend on valentinesday

  • Crazy and incredible... This is the first time in my life I use this phrase with a loooooooot of admiration... ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡SON OF A BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i want that guitar

  • omfg wish my Jem did this stuff...

  • Great vid man.

  • He got 8 min! Was his solo album out when this was happening? Pretty cool he got to play his own shit in solo

  • Should I be embarrassed if cumed a little

  • Damn! When VAI gives a solo performance. he gives YOU a SOLO OPUS!!

  • W/all due respect for the man's technical ability, I just can't get Spinal Tap outta my mind when watching that 3-necked beast...

  • @tommyo777 This was a hair metal band

  • @aigmeyer Making them different from S-Tap, somehow?

  • @tommyo777 Just saying that it makes sense

  • Although Vai is obviously the Master, this is pretty much musical masturbation...

  • LOL I'M MUCH BETTER THAN HIM AT GUITAR

  • This is wonderful! Massive Steve Vai fan here. Listen...I know times change and people develop and evolve but, to me, this is Steve at his peak. I'm finding it much harder to love his music these days...it's just not the same anymore.

  • Steve is good, but John Sykes was Whitesnake.

  • @rallyivan1234 i agree, he wrote their biggest hits. I think the only solo he didn't do on that Whitesnake album was "Here I Go Again" which was recorder by Adrian Vanderberg. I could be wrong though.

  • @rallyivan1234 steve vai is a lot better that good. plus whitesnake was shitty 100% of the time that steve vai wasn't with them. why would he be playing for the love of god if they were good? exactly.

  • that's some NICE SHIT GUITAR !

  • What's not to love?Superb to the max :)

  • UNREAL

  • i love that outfit

  • i love that outfits

  • wow

  • Thought he was gonna play Eruption @ 0:48

  • well thats not a jem

  • @epiex1997 tehfirst guitar was a heat shaped ibanez guitar with 3 necks and the second guitar was an ibanez universe covered with mirror pieces

  • @epiex1997 One is a Universe and the heart is actually considered a jem

  • Oooo! I'm looking forward to the DVD. Vai, Vandenberg, and Aldridge. Should be lots of wanking! ( I'm not being sarcastic.) Hope all the solos are left in.

  • For the love of god I can never get enough of Steve :)

  • Thanks for posting this. This is awesome. I have just put it in my favorite list.

  • oh for the love of god!!

  • kutsi akbümü

  • I think i was at this concert...was this at the spectrum in philla PA.?

  • That guitar is GAY...

  • what steve did was smart...he adapted a more melodic 'For the Love of God' to this audience who came to hear...well.....ROCK N ROLL

  • EVO!!!!

  • @mlbrttt No, here isn´t EVO, EVO was born on 1993 for Sex&Religion...

  • @edanevidutulek Oh, OK..... sure looks like EVO

  • @hornyhank1 It was already Complete by this time actually

  • well you learn something new every day... whitesnake was good, they are now even better to me knowing vai was in it!!!

  • Steve Vai is the modern day paganini and a great showman technical musician

  • Once you start listening you can't stop yourself, awesome ending I've never seen a guitar played like that wooooooooooooooooow!!!!

  • young "For The Love Of God" ;) By the way, this 'solo' seems to be almost like a Steve Vais micro gig inside Whitesnakes gig ;)

  • haha this is great! for the love of god, the audience is listening!

  • Would everyone stop whining like babies and enjoy this historic video?

  • @davedropd1

And you, being a guitar god and all, obviously know shit about guitars and talent. It's called showmanship, douche bag. Putting out a show while you're at it never hurt the music.

  • Utter rubbish - a soulless wankhon that real musicians just laugh at. Ahahahha.....yeah...like anyone remembers this insipid shit after hearing it. Pointless!

  • @MissEgasMoniz are you talking about Steve Vai?? If you are, you're a fucking idiot.

  • @MissEgasMoniz I wonder what it is that you call "real music" I bet its hip hop and all that niggger shit. You can suck a cock.

  • @kls4life LOL - I actually have many Whitesnake records - none with Vai. You can take your racist homophobic redneck bullshit and fuck off.

  • @MissEgasMoniz Troll/hater

  • @IMmoreRANDOMthanYOU "Troll"...ahahah....how cute. Hater.....well I just hate shitty crap music if thats what you mean. Keep striving spud.

  • for the love of god?!?!?

  • yeah definitely too much new age now, he was better as a rock metal player

  • I want this steve via to come back

  • I prefer THIS rock vai. he's great and all but I like this style better, now he's too much new age or something. I like his style now too, but I prefer this

  • Early stages of for the love of god.......nice!!!!!!!

  • @RONDOC68 the album came out 1990

  • @RONDOC68

actually pasion and warfare was already out so those songs were complete at that time

  • @RONDOC68 actually he came out with passion and warfare which has for the love of god either before or during he was with whitesnake so he plays it in all his solos

  • woah he meseed up at 6:30!

  • was steve vai there original guitarist?

  • @ibanezjunkie91 That would be Adrian Vandenberg. Vai came in after the self entitled album for the tour. Hope that helped. Peace.

  • @kenporich2006 No Vandenberg is not the original Whitesnake guitarist. Bernie Marsden is the original guitarist for Whitesnake.

  • That's a performance!!

  • @tgolba90 AMEN!! I guess ur right... Ignorance is really a beautiful curse!! LOL

    |m|o

  • @vaijones2002 Dude.. do you play guitar at all?? If you did.. you wouldn't say that. Dimebag was a great guitarist.. but comparing him to VAI?? That's just ridiculous.

  • @doobiez2

    Read @vaijones2002 comment again, please.

  • @doobiez2 i think we shouldn't compare musicians , i mean , of course some are better players or writers or w/e but music is art, not a sport. Not like sport the point is not to win or its not a competition , its a form of expression , so i wouldn't compare them... but maybe thats just me.

  • @doobiez2 I love Dimebag as much as the next guy, he's one of my heros and all, but Steve vai is just a beautiful guitarist no matter what and he ranks way higher up than dime

  • @doobiez2 agreed i love dime (r.i.p.) but he was no vai

  • @vaijones2002 Incorrect.

  • @vaijones2002 No he wasn't...

  • where was this filmed @?

  • in the beginning the guitar is ridiculous

  • Angelo sucks. Vai - the KING of n-neck-guitar!

  • Was it before or after passion n warfare?

  • @Glutonid After.

  • @Glutonid rite @ the same time. cause if u listen he cuts into "for the luv of God"

  • @Glutonid Probably right about the same time. I don't know for sure, but in an 89 interview he was talking about starting to work on it.

  • eargasm

  • Caught this in '90 going through Columbia, SC. Very coool!!

  • So. F*cking. Awesome!

  • amazing

  • I still think Steve Vai's best playing was when he was in Whitesnake and David Lee Roth

  • He must be on acid here....

  • he plays a very similar solo to the start of this in '96 right before for the love of god, it was a g3 show

  • @BeboAltizer

    i recognized that too lol

  • monster of guitar!! vais is the best!! motherfuck!

  • el mejor del mundo

  • lol so many songs in just 89 minutes

  • Dude steve vai already had ·For he love of god" with WS? ..... Dude this guy is the reencarnation of Nicolo PAganini!

  • Comment removed

  • @dorfenix PAW was finished before he recorded the guitar parts for the WS record. He was promoting PAW while on the road with WS

  • Ahora entiendo la palabra "cursi"

  • I remember seeing Whitesnake at around this time with Steve Vai and Adrian Vandenberg. At one point in the concert a twirling mirrored guitar was lowered to Steve Vai and he played his song "For The Love of God" (which he played in this video). It was magical!!!

  • 2 words ULI ROTH hell yeahhh steve is amazing too

  • @chemajmcollado ...I agree that Uli Roth is AWESOME! I got to see Uli Roth play with Michael Schenker at a small club some years back. It was UNBELIEVABLE! I wish I would have seen Steve Vai with Frank Zappa. I did get to see him with Whitesnake and at the very first G3 show in Concord, CA in 1996 with Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, Kenny Wayne Shepherd with Mike Keneally on keyboards and guitar as well as Neal Schon appearing as a guest.

  • the end was HOLY FCK !!!!!

  • 4:27 is pure orgasm!

  • He played like EVH...

  • Gotta love Steve, But is it just me? or did things maybe get just a little bit TOO "Spinal Tap"y towards the end?

  • fantastically

  • 4.03 onwards shows that vai can alternate pick v.fast

  • 3:24 fckn awesome... listening to this dude its like fantasy to our minds...

  • it may be a bit uncomfortable to play with a neck below your hand...

  • 6:13 eruption eddie van haelen

  • @pittmetalla92 hummmm oh you mean the riff for "the aduence is listening"?

  • @metachozoite yeah

  • 6:13 a little Eddie Van Halen nod...lol

  • thanks for uploading this

  • i agree i like this side of vai alot

  • I saw this tour when I was 16 and his solo changed my life. Seen him many times since but will always remember him walking up to that mirror guitar and going into For The Love Of God.

  • wow! you must have practiced for weeks on end!

  • you're gay, your name explains it all, this type of music is too complex for you man go back listening to that screamo shit

  • fuk off u shallow fadish fake ass

  • This is a very different side of Steve Vai. Much more rock n' roll.

  • @ChainSlammer thumbs up to old vai :P

  • @ChainSlammer its just the steve vai before you knew him thats all, same guy, same skills

  • Awesome guitar....
