  • $10k when I got them, should be cheaper now, from Thundersky China. May be cheaper better ones out there now; search for 160Ah or 200Ah 3.2v > nom lithium phosphate batteries. Cheers

  • How much do the batteries cost an were can I get them

  • nice how she there helping you

  • breasts

  • my my my ...why you playing with the car - head inside and play play play... the right way :) man she is mummmmmm

  • 3.2v is okay -I was watching it, made sure it didn't bolt

  • Do not put Bolt on the battery, while removing from the box, my get welded ... Otherwise WAY TO GO- JUST DO IT- VIVA. 1-ev.com

  • great job and i meaan all of it ;)

  • NICE BOOBS

  • Thath gril is hot Big boobs

  • Effort and dedication for success. Good job.

  • bit dangerous how she casually puts down the bolt on top of the other batteries. if it shorts the poles then things happen.

  • boobs very nice...

  • Excelent congratulations

  • how much did you pay for the batteries? sorry if i missed the answer? and can you give me specs, how long to charge, miles, ect. thank you. excuse all these perverts, its the internet people will say whatever is on their mind.

  • Hi, ah, the batteries cost me $10kUSD, though they're cheaper now. Thundersky lithium phosphate 160Ah @3C delivery (higher for short durations), 3.2v nominal. Needs battery management to protect. 90 mile range with 33% left over charge, 7 hours to charge (my trip to work and back 15 miles or so so only an hour and a half to recharge). Li polymers will give you 3 times the range but twice the cost, but are lighter, higher voltage, smaller size, so consider that also if you go conversion. cheerz

  • MMMMMmmm.,that chick is nice.

  • @tuguybear

pervert. why would you talk about someone's wife like that? have some respect. do you need help find porn site? i can hook u up!!

  • @Perfectasthis If you think that is perverted you've had a very sheltered life.I actually meant it as a complement you strange person.

  • The batteries came in... Quick, throw on a low cut shirt!

  • Get them from evworks dot com dot au (can't reply with a url here, won't accept it) -evworks sell for various rated batteries

  • Mmmmm electric car and tits, triple tasty.

  • Tits!)))

  • how much does each battery weigh exactly?

  • Hi, 12.35lbs, or 5.6 kilos for lithium phosphates. If you get polymers they're approx half the weight. chers

  • how much where the lithium batteries

  • Hi, about $10kUSD for 160Ah - cycle life expected about 4000 cycles. Deep cycles roughly half that cost and around 1500 cycles

  • What batteries are we looking at?

  • 160Ah Thundersky Lithium Phosphate chemistry, very stable. Cheers

  • @cityofdomes One more question. If I have a normal deep cycle battery in my system and I need to keep it from over heating and my control box has an option for that set-up but my batteries don't, what do I need and do I really need something like that?

  • You'd want a battery management system (BMS). Typically used for lithiums to monitor/shunt each Li cell's top charge (and not up to charger to shut off when full volts of pack is reached). Lithiums are sensitive to overcharge. Deep cycles are relatively temperature/overcharge tolerant; most ev SLA conversions don't use management so you can get away without it (but deep cycles can still benefit from BMS, to reduce sulfation etc and increase cycle life). Up to you!

  • @cityofdomes

Does a BMS tell you anything or is it just a circuit board that has little gismos on it? Like an LED readout? Voltage, amps?

  • Hi, cute, lots of little components all doing their job to make sure the battery is not overcharged which is a bad bad thing for lithiums. There's an Atmel Tiny13 controller that is programmed to shunt the charging (C code), two shut resistors and a reg plus a LED to tell me there's a charge (some wire other way to shut off LED on peak charge, but I like xmas tree lights :-) ). A master controller handles charge comms so every battery is happy. Connect a PDA/iphone if you want.

  • THUMBS UP, for the people that think she know´s what we are looking at !! O_O

  • show us your tits. ooh you alredy have

  • Great concept!

  • wieviel hast du für die batterien bezahlt ?

und wo hast du sie gekauft ?

  • Batterien sind von Thundersky China, Kosten um $10,000USD.

  • @cityofdomes

danke, wow das ist echt extrem viel

  • nice tits!!

  • forget the batteries, nice jugs

  • damn some nice tits.. i would eat her pussy all night long

  • nice tits...

  • i didnt understand the water cooling part...why would u need a water cooling unit? to cool?

  • Water cooling is effective for the speed controller. MOSFETS are constantly chopping at a rapid rate due to the power demand from potbox>accelerator> my foot on pedal. Most controllers use heatsinks and/or fans but for more power demands (i.e., I live in a hilly area) a water cooled block cools to enough to avoid the thermal safety pwr cut if the Curtis gets too hot. Not all EVs need water cooling. If you look at Zilla controllers, they have water cooling built in. Cheers.

  • Hi wondering if there is a way to hook up the power sterring and air conditioning

  • Hi, I used a separate driver motor and IOTA inverter for the air con compressor and mounted it on a laser-cut mild steel jig with the old hydraulic pwr steer; pwrd via the DC-DC converter. Also put a switch to turn off pwr steer to save power when needed. Not a big job, a bit messy. An electric pwr steer would be easier. You can also bolt the compressor off main motor with suitable step-down but of course it won't turn when you're at the lights. A friend did this to an electric Echo.

  • Got distracted from the pair at 1:02.. could have been a nice little thundersky arc welder demo.

  • lol nut rider.

  • LOL, yeah, I'll get my car to talk to me next...

"Hey, KITT, how's the battery management doing?"

-"Fine Carmel, except cell 46 is undercharging."

"Cell 46 KITT? Do'h, left my bottle of grog in the engine bay again!"

-"I'll tell Devon you're boozing again, Carmel."

"Don't go gay on me KITT, you party pooper!"

  • Well I'll be damned.

  • If you ever decide to convert the VN i would be happy to take an angle grinder to it for ya!

  • Hi.

Great work dude. I'm building a dual 11" kostov EV but I'm stuck with the motor shaft-flywheel adapter. How did you made yours?

  • Hi, got a guy to machine up an adapter plate for gearbox to motor for me -I think it's shown on no 6 of this series. Doesn't use a clutch plate. Depends what car it is I guess. Yeah, 11" Kostov rocks. Cheers

  • Thanks for your reply. The adapter plate is no problem for me. The problem is to make the motor shaft compatible with the gearbox...

  • Spline and flywheel was machined b4 attchn clutch disc after calculating correct new distance for bell housing position -only a few ml difference -my machinist did this all for me. Make sure gap dist at back of flywheel between plate is same as original (u can then calc flywheel width) & check spline witness marks align up as original. Info on my adapter plate/flywheel is on my blog. msg via YT mail for more info and url examples as YT won't show my links. Cheers

  • I only saw some nice jugs and something about a car...

  • there was somehting about a car? I missed that bit

  • Hi Can u please tell how many Kw that motor is also max RPM Volt also

    Thank You

  • should get 110Kw out of it in right conditions -max 6000rpm, though motor can handle more than this -cheers

  • Hi again,Thanks for ur replay..I am really inspired by the clips..I am planning to built one myself..its a 99model Fiat Uno weight around 1100Kg in factory condition ..and I am living in small town where i need max 80K/Hr and the maximum travel distance of 40Km..can u please suggest which parts I should use Motor W,Hp,Rpm,V,speed controller Amp,Volt?,Battery Max V and Amps,

Your responds will be grateful for my project..

    Thank You

    Arun

    India-Kerala-Trissur

  • Fiat Uno? Neat. You won't need a big motor, say Advanced DC 8 inch, and Thundersky lithiums 160Ah x 45 for 144v nominal. Get a Zilla controller if you can, but a Curtis 1231C 500A will do for your needs. Get a DC-DC converter for accessories and a Zivan charger, breaker, brakes vac pump etc. Search for ev-power Australia -lots of info. Cheers

  • Thanks for the info...I have seen some motors on EBAY which are the same ratings as u suggested is it ok to buy?,how many K s maximum I can travel with a single charge with 160AH battery ..how can i calculate?

    Thanks

    Arun Joseph

  • Hi, there are many variables to consider when determining distance, suffice to say that for average driving, air con use, pwr steering etc, you'd get roughly 120km distance for 160Ah lithiums @144v nominal -less for night driving of course -I say roughly as it also depends on driving habits, hilly terrain, car tar weight + passengers etc. Also note that battery 'fuel' E gauge would actually be at 33% to preserve lithium chemistry from breakdown. hope this helps

  • oh sorry, yeah regarding eBay, I got my Kostov from eBay, had done only 50 miles or so -hardly used -was a bargain. if buying from ebay, and it's a series wound dc motor with brushes, check brush quality and also ask to come and look at it. Brushes can be replaced but a worn out motor may have arcing evidence, bad contacts, shaft misalignment etc. Always inspect b4 purchase. cheers

  • Thanks again for the advice..u r now more like EV guru to me...I have inquired about the thunder sky and waiting for the replay....also looking for a good motor..Bye

    Arun

  • You can't go wrong with Advanced DC 7, 8 or 9 inch motor. Cheers

  • Hello, 144v and 160Ah are the sum of all the batteries (if yes, how many? ) or they are the values of a single battery?

How much Volt has to a single yellow battery and how much Ah?

You remember also the cost of a single battery?

    Thanks for these precious information!

  • Hi, each battery is 3.2v @160Ah nominal x 45 for 144v nominal. Individual battery rated at 3C (3 times the nominal 160Ah, when needed). I recall each battery was a couple of hundred bux or so. You can get them from Everspring. With proper battery management they should last up to 3000 cycles. Price for the Thundersky lithium phosphates, double roughly for the polymers. Cheerz

  • nice job. theat girl in the blue top is sexy i like when her top strap falls off two different times and she puts it back on. very subtle

  • Where can i get those batteries?

  • You can get them from Eversprint. The asses at Youtube won't let me put a web address in my reply, so just do a search 'Everspring Thundersky batteries'. Cheers

  • Sorry (typo) -EVERSPRING -cheers

  • Где источники питания Тесла?

  • Hi, hope I translated your comment reasonably. Not sure of supplier for Tesla batteries. I think they use small form-factor battery Lithium packs, ie lots of smaller cells in larger modules to effectively dissipate heat. Don't think you can buy these for your own projects, but there are white papers you can download from Tesla. I use commercially-available-for-general-public Thundersky lithiums, with a phosphate anode for stable temperature operation. Everspring can supply you. Hope this helps.

  • Hi,

"phosphate anode for stable temperature" - in my experience testing to -5°C LIFePO4 (from ChinaBatteries) is not really bad at low temperatures but it looses a lot of voltage.

Is there something fundamentally different with Thundersky? In Winter operation I have nearly double consumption out of the grid per km.

PS: please take safety spectacles when handling batteries...

  • yeah they can be slow off the mark in colder temperatures. I'd like to get some better specs on these but no one at TS or elsewhere wants to divulge anything (not surprised there). Thermal layering/lattice design may make a difference, not sure.

  • Hey you two youtubes!

Thanks for the clips from your convertion.

You seens to have grat fun with it.

The best of luck to both of you.

  • Even with a Zilla, you'd have to crank down the battery side to no more than 480A, since the LFP from TS is only rated to 3C peak. Don't apologize for boobs - all car videos need them to attract they guys!

  • hempev? Who names their kid THAT? This coming from a guy that promotes a "bar stool racer"? What a joke! Anyways a Zilla 2k would be an upgrade in power over the Curtis. That's a fact!

  • And who names their kid AlamoCityCello... you went to the trouble of visiting my Yahoo site, that says something about my reputation (not interested in any racers, barstool or otherwise, the Uve Rick EV calculator is the real reason for the site)... You can turn up the motor amps in a Zilla, but more than 3C from TS cells will shorten their lives dramatically, but Ot has stopped production for now, so get comfortable with the Curtis.

  • Ur right hempykid, Otmar has suspended production! Lucky me, cause I just got a Zilla 1k last month.

  • BTW..swing for a Zilla 2k and Otmar put u at the top of the Q!

  • why do girls love their batteries so...?

  • Excellent video... even better than your first one... very informative. Animated schematic is a great idea. Really looking forward to your next installment!

  • Get a ZILLA 2K!!

  • Yeah we will in due course -and some extra batteries for grunt!

  • With the right controller, that car will ZOOM-ZOOM-ZOOM!!
