@kedwards337 well for one it keeps the products that you have in your hair from getting on your pillow/sheets while you're asleep. It protects your style & it keeps your hair from breaking off if you have long hair

@kedwards337 it also allows you hair to stay moist. If you put oils and other moisturizers in your hair a durag allows you to keep all the product in you hair. Things like cotton, which most pillow cases are made of, tends to dry out you hair. hope this helps

Hey, I have my braids but i play basketball and i don't wanna take em out wat would be a good solution to stop it from frizzing up?

@Treveon9 well due to the sweat, heat, wind, etc. your braids are bound to frizz up anyway. That's why whenever I do sports or exercise, I tend to wear a du-rag to keep it secure & try to prevent it from frizzing. Try that out & see how that works

@BangBangLocks well plastic is a lil gentler on your hair (which i like more) but the metal pick usually gets the maximum height out of your hair while picking. i guess its more a personal preference

@JohnMurrill You still need to use shampoo to remove the dirt and oils from your hair and scalp. Without that you can get buildup which can make your hair feel nasty and block the pores in your scalp.

I'm definitely able to get it braided now but the only thing thats preventing me is girls never actually DOING IT when they say they wanna do it and getting a ride to a braider

@dropit777 i kno that used to happen to me a while back. i found out that it usually has to do with the way you sleep. if you always sleep on the same side, that side isn't getting as much air as the other side so it's gonna seem a little thinner than the other, so try switching sides. If that's not the case, then it might be something that you should take up with a salon stylist or dermatologist

I dont always pick my hair everyday because sometimes I'll just take a shower and leave it as is. I guess it would make sense if it grows faster without pickingsince there's no tension on the roots. That's probably why some people say that they think hair grows faster when it's in twists because you dont really do anything to em

@TheHumorousAquarian yeah I get those comments every now and then. About a week ago, I was in this room with like 4 ppl telling me that I need to cut my hair and all that other stuff. Fortunately for me, I have a natural talent of both tuning ppl out and playing things cool. But remember that it's YOUR hair so you can't let people that hate on you tell YOU to do something with YOUR hair.
